Not sure how, but PokerRoom.Online and PokerRooms.Online slipped through preregistrations and they're not even premium (amazingly), so I nabbed 'em!

Given that poker rooms are originally an "offline" concept and because most poker sites are essentially "rooms" and they call themselves that, I think I made out with a couple of nice ones.

What .Online domains did you get?

bookticket.com - 4K in 2013
none other sales reported

So sorry to say but you will struggle to find end user even for reg fee. That goes for other names as well...

Always look at competition:
- registered domains
- sold names (namebio.com)
- existing websites (zfbot.com)

For new TLD domains ONLY buy the very best/premium keywords (unless you have a lot of spare cash to pay for renewals while you wait for an end user that just has to have this particular domain picked from thousands of other extensions / word combinations)

Of course everything is possible so... *shrug*

Yes, thanks for pointing out other sales. I did check namebio before getting this domain and I found the following, in addition to what you pointed out. (All these are developed websites)

ticketoffice.com - sold fot 18,000$
buyticket.com - sold for 16,000

tickets.mobi - sold for 60,000$
tickets-online.com - sold for 4000


I was thinking about selling this to someone who's planning to create an online ticket booking portal. Since the name is generic and not very specific to one area (like airtickets or movietickets), I felt the potential is huge as anything/everything can be developed with this.

Ofcourse, I don't expect this to sell it for 5-figures but I thought I can still sell it for some *decent* figure..

In addition to this, I must also say that I found "exact match searches" for the following kewyords in Adwords Keywords Planner tool (which I use to research before I pick out any name)! (Let me know if there's a better tool to use, other than keywordspy). I found the following:

Book Ticket = 2400 searches, 70cents CPC, Medium competition
Online Ticket = 5400 search, 85cents CPC, Medium competition
Book Ticket Online = 1900, 50c, Medium


This may still be quite challenging to sell but at $10 a piece, I felt it's a risk worth taking!

Just saying - for now there's almost zero interest in new extensions. If you don't have a super premium names it's less risky to spend $$$ it on com/net/org/etc.
If you ask anyone who was cheering nGTLDs last year and bought hundreds of random domains back then - I bet many would say they wish they hadn't. Or at least were VERY picky about their buys.
For every 1 domain that sells there's probably 10000 that was/will be dropped...

Just saying - for now there's almost zero interest in new extensions. ==> No, definitely not! There are quite a few ngtlds doing well, especially .IO, .CLUB and .XYZ.. there are plenty of sales happening these days in these extn...I personally sold my 1-word 'dating' keyword .IO domain for 6000$ last month which I hand registered for 32$, to an end user! It is in no way related to 'technology' since people feel IO is for tech! (Not to forget, there's no related .com or top extn sale anywhere close to what I sold this for). New extensions like these, especially .Online are very attractive and it's a matter of time for people to adapt!

1 out of 10,000 domains --> That may be only if the person doesn't reach out to anyone but if you do outbound, you're going to sell a few for a decent 3 to 4 figure at least..I have sold 3 out of my 80-odd ngtlds in the last 3 months with not much outbound efforts!

To conclude, bookticket.online is way better and makes more sense (IMO) than bookticket.info at least by the way it 'sounds'. Given the fact that there's some "exact" search match for this domain, even including the extension 'online', it's definitely better than a .info or other name..

Anyway, I still 'hope' I will be able to sell this since it's attractive and I'm willing to do a couple of renewals if this extension picks up! If ever I manage to sell this, I'll post again in this thread Thanks for your views!
