Not sure how, but PokerRoom.Online and PokerRooms.Online slipped through preregistrations and they're not even premium (amazingly), so I nabbed 'em!

Given that poker rooms are originally an "offline" concept and because most poker sites are essentially "rooms" and they call themselves that, I think I made out with a couple of nice ones.

What .Online domains did you get?

I wasn't a fan in the beginning but that's changed. I can see this one in the #1 or #2 spot within a year if it continues at it's current rate. O.o

I have no doubt that it will hit the number 1 spot within 2 years. probably way before that.
Radix has a target 1 million plus within two years. I think they will hit 100000 by the end of the month.

Was in auction for two, packed my bags when they reached $xxx
Sometimes it makes no sense with the new g's and it's speculators alike.

Say a name goes for $250, renewals at $30, the liquid value is 0.
The .com cost $1000, renewals at $9, the liquid value is $500.

.online only had 2nd tier and worse names available.

It really don't add up. Again to much herd mentality.

It looks like it had a great first day but a week out it's averaging 1,379 for the last week according to namestat. .co got 300,000 first week.

I remember .CO... that was fun and that is oddly enough where I made the bulk of my domaining money but to be fair .CO was not a new TLD.
It was a re-brand of a ccTLD (from the best that I understand) which was then offered up to the public as a gTLD.

I agree with you that there are other successful launches but I believe that he was comparing the ONLINE launch to recent nTLD launches.

As far as the numbers, first day or two will usually have the most. That happened here, doesn't look strange. I think it was all the preordering? plus usual first day excitement. But it did seem to level off pretty quickly. 1,379 a day for the last week isn't drove numbers to me. Seems low for a more general extension in it's first week.

I am on the fence.
I fully agree that the first day excitement got some people, we see it all the time here (which I know you are well aware of) but there is where my "question o' meter" begins to buzz.

We just did not see the "NORMAL" amount of talk up and domain showcasing (if that is a word) that we (at the very least I) am accustomed to with the launch of new extensions.
With an extension that breaks records (for nTLDs), I would have expected it to be received more warmly then what it was here at Namepros. The fact that it got only lukewarm reviews and yet broke records struck me as odd.
Given the fact that some registries have (in the past) puffed up their numbers to make them seem better then they are give me cause for pause here.

This is where my "the numbers do not add up" thing stems from.

So maybe Germany is the key location for these registrations. That is a new one for me... but I will go along with it.
