I wonder how many people type in dr.ca looking for medical advice or something of that nature but quickly realize that Dr.ca could be what they are looking for afterall! I mean, who doesn’t love chocolates?? :xf.grin:

Ah, Diabetes Relief.. DR.ca.... What!

I have never seen "stock exchange" used with a hyphen. If this one was to drop, it wouldn't catch my eye. If it was up for auction, I don't see many bids if any. Too bad too, nicely aged from 2003..

Even the .com equiv. seems to go to a domain/registrar type site.

A little long, an unnecessary hyphen and ends with .ca which struggles anyways, ---> no value.

M-x seems to be the "Montreal Stock EXchange...nice use of a L-L domain!

Hyphens are popular in the German market!

Only thing I can suggest for Stock-Exchange is to try to sell it to a blogger that is stock market analyst, and or blogs about the stock market!

stockmarket(dot)ca/ is a parked page and for sale (what a waste of a nice paying (adsense etc) keyword domain..

Yep, but it is weird as several LLL.ca's that would fit (like TMX.ca) are available to be bought.

P.S. It's actually The Montreal Exchange, so TMX or TME, both of which are available for purchase on .CA.

especially because a number of people are using .ca in California.

.
"people" do you mean average end user or businesses!

I can understand business with a Canadian presence or leasing from a Canadian but the average "end user"?

Must be SEM/SEO challenge for Google Maps...
Love to lease my "cannabis" niche domains to Californians!

Is this possible @robepik ? You would know more about this than me!

Way back in the day it was quite hip for Californians to use .ca and I know a number of places still do. You can get around the .ca requirements by registering to a Canadian address and there are a number of services available if you google it that allow you to register geo domains with local addresses.

Thanks...did register a few "GEO" names way back but didn't do the footwork (contacting end users)

Thanks for the very informative link!
Thinking because of the recent legalization and California being a "cannabis" state, those percentages would be higher! The legalization is highly trending..

Then a lot of companies should lose their sites then, but as I've found out, the CIRA really doesn't give a crap about enforcing their rules. Look at the TBR registrars essentially stealing valuable domains before they hit the TBR, when the CIRA requires those to be dropped for open bids.

It's a very dirty business and they just don't care.

Love to know what this means "is an Affiliate of the Registrant" ?
Example..I am a affilaite of a "CBD" site, and I redirect that site to my affiliate link, if I redirect another one of my sites to a "downline (someone who signs up under me) referral link" is that "legal"?

CIRA is just milking our money.
Their emails go to spam, I have told them, no difference
I and @namesilo have told them numerous times that namesilo is not in list of certified registrars, unresponsive.
Instead they add these sketchy registrars to the list, which is their high and mighty friends playing the system.
Our extension is stale, they should promote .ca and educate canadians instead of donating my money to charity.

On a brighter note their looking into hooking up internet in https://cira.ca/blog/state-internet/building-not-just-bringing-internet-iqaluit

Can someone explain in normal terms what this means?

Well, that is actually clever. Really clever.

So, yes, the WHOIS stays the same but you can lease the domain to a non-Canadian.

It is slightly genius actually.
