I just noticed someone (not me) is looking for a .ca appropriate to Toronto real estate market. Just in case one of you have one and has not responded. The post was some weeks ago but only has generated a few responses. I don't do real estate names, but sure some of you must have something.

I don't know anything about either, but they do both have reports in this - it seems that Domain Brothers report the ones under $10k and Email the others.

I checked the about for Domain Brothers, and they say it is Kartik Mehta and Jay Mehta. I can find a street address, but no names on the about for the other.

Has anyone tried selling with them?

I just listed some domains with Domainbrothers but no on answers the phone - is it truly just a 2 man show?

Has anyone had success in listing with DomainBrothers?

Are they known for front-running their own domains, or do they give external submissions equal mind-share?

I think I sent them my domain list too.. they replied its accepted so I guess my domains listed there too.

but I wouldn't hope for much. .ca is still a hard sale.. and unless you own something that's on @MapleDots wishlist, you may end up waiting a while for a sale ;)

cheers

You nailed it - that wishlist is like a pink unicorn, though. Who knows what's on it!

I don't have red, maple, or perfect, but I do have something similar :).

I will say, 10% is very reasonable, and they have made some notable sales in the past. I wonder what their network is like, and whether they're actively pursuing high-value endusers.

I have multiple bids out on platforms for 10k on .ca's and I'm not even being answered.

I start the bids at 5k, if I hear nothing I move to 10k, if I still hear nothing I cancel the negotiation. If they don't even want to entertain the notion of starting a negotiation then so be it. I just move on to the next and hopefully they are willing to take my 5-20k.

Right now I have set 20k to be my max opening bid but for the correct domain I could be convinced to go higher. Problem is all the people sitting on their thumbs, you cannot sell if you don't at least start a conversation.

I don't know about you guys bit I will return an email to anyone offering 5k on a secured platform. Least I could do is respond and say... thank you but I'm looking closer to 75k for that one. At least that tells me where we stand.

Honestly.... I get more responses when I bid 5k on a .com, most of those guys at least get back to me.

I prefer to get a response saying whatever to a dead silence. When that happens I just put the domain on my dead list and move on. Right now there are 92 domains on my dead list with no response to an offer.

Mind you to be fair, some of those are sweet domains but all they had to do was initiate a conversation to say.... hey good start... lets focus on xxxxx to start.

This is interesting.. Thank you for sharing. I suspect it's a matter of pure negligence on the part of these domain owners. Maybe they haven't received any offers over years of ownership and rarely check the associated e-mails.

It's so markedly strange that there would be no correspondence whatsoever.. I think anyone would be more than happy to entertain a genuine opening offer of 5k, 10k, 20k, etc., irrespective of the domain's quality.

Again, extremely interesting to hear the feedback.

I am actually accustomed to it because a lot of these domainers want 75-100k plus for the.ca and a few lucky ones might even get it but most won't even get anywhere near.

I do well when I find someone tired of waiting and in need of some quick cash. That is a numbers game where I have to make multiple offers for each hit. The problem is there are only so many good domains to be had so its a pretty slow process.

I just moved my domains from Domain Brothers and going to try efty out, I didn't even get my domains all set up and i had an offer ( albeit a low ball offer but... I have there name and email, found them on linked in etc so that is my data that i can see, where as Domain Brothers keeps all data until a sale is made )

also i was awaiting there new landing pages, as the ones they currently use for non buy it now domains, has adsense on them that you aren't receiving any compensation for, and they are promoting one of there social media programs right beside your domain name.

I will see how efty works out.

Efty is a much better choice and I looked at your site dan.... I still love the RedTagDomain.ca handle (y)

You need to correct the phone number and put some dashes in there, it looks like a european number the way you have it set up.

One of the things that bugs me on Efty is the infinite scrolling. If I want to get to the contact info at the bottom of the page while searching it just keeps scrolling and scrolling. I much prefer a next page button.

Thanx Mapledots

I still have a lot of work ahead of me, I just uploaded over 600 names, and had to individually add bin prices and pick category and specific brand of landing page for each name so, tomorrow i will look at the over all look and feel of it including images, and look towards getting some logo's made of some of my better names. I will defiantly look at the number thing as well. I just finished my names on there earlier today and already had one offer like i said and another inquiry just came in so.. so far so good lol.

I find the efty pages index incredibly well on google so I expect you will probably sell more than on domain brothers. I don't know but I just don't feel like handing those two guys too many sales.

I have nothing against domain brothers, it just wasn't a fit at this time, it might in the future time will tell. I wish them well and there clients as well.

I just had a look at your Efty based marketplace @dancarlson ! Really nice clean professional look! And a very nice portfolio! The entry photo is fantastic!

I was wondering if there was a reason why you did not activate the secure marketplace setting? Just wondered.

Yeah they have a nice clean look, I was going to go with them but the branded favicon and small logos did not work for me. So I took some of the design cues and designed my own lander freehand and I'm using google sheets to import my domains. My spreadsheet automatically takes those 3 columns and imports them to the site every time I make a change. It's all pretty well automatic and free.
