is there any data you folks know of with publicly accessible info on people's domain name sales/acquisitions n the rates they paid?

spcfically re .ca, i mean
Namebio.com has some .ca sales figures.

Yes, if you want to track some of the larger .ca sales in the past, there is an unconfirmed list at domainworld.ca

DnJournal.com also includes any major .ca sales in its weekly report of domain sales (in the country tld category).

If you want to buy/sell .ca names or stay tuned into .ca news I run a free weekly .ca newsletter (DomainAssets.ca).

I hope that info helps. Cheers!

I just got an email from cira.ca today with my account and password saying I had requested it but I had not. Is someone trying to hack me? Anything I can/should do?
I looked at the raw html of the message and it looks like a legit cira email and the link goes back to their site so it doesn't look like phishing.

I've never received a random user/password notice,
that is odd that you got one...
Best thing to do is check where you have your .ca's
to be sure everything is ok. Especially the email address.

The fact that you got the email, and it wasn't directed
to someone else is a good thing.

I checked the account and its for a .ca i won in a drop auction so maybe it has something to do with that. Its also still showing the previous registrants name even though its in my account, can't seem to change that at my registrar or cira.ca do you know how that works?
Another possibility is someone just made a typo trying to retrieve their own domains info.

I don't know how long the domain has been in your account,
but if it's in your CIRA account then the info should change shortly.
Their pretty good at keeping up on that.

I'm not sure if you'd have to change it at the registrar, when it was
placed in your CIRA account the info should change automatically
to match that of your CIRA profile - you mentioned you can't -
but if it hasn't changed in a few days, I would send support
an email and ask what happens next as far as the info change goes.

It is possible that it was a typo mistake, but keep a watch anyway :)

Was the domain at sibername? I got one for each domain I have there this morning.

Yes it was at sibername, interesting, I have a few there and that was the only notice I received.

That dropped domain I got a few months ago so it looks like something is stuck, thanks for the info!

So Sibername says they requested those name and password notices, I don't know why. Seems like a bad security idea since the emails included both the account# and password. Email is not that secure.

They also did a merge to put my name on the domain I got on drop.

Why?

what do you think about???
I fail to see any special relationship between Guinea Bissau and the .ca extension. Am I missing something?
If you got this domain name with development plans then it may have been a wise purchase. As an investment? Nah.

just the domain´s name. No to develop. Country + extension

I remember hearing of a buy-out a while back and was just wondering the opinions LLL.ca and if there is any "value" to them.

Greetings: first post here.

I registered snipe.ca 3 - 4 years ago and am wondering if it would be worth anything (not that I want to sell it)

Recently I created a site so it could could garner some traffic.

Cheers

I have sold several LLL.ca's over the last year,
one just as recent as 2 weeks ago.

At the request of the buyers, I can't disclose the
actual amounts, but one was low $xxx three were over $4xx
and one was mid-high $xxx

There are drops in the TBR (I don't know much about those)
but there are some deals to be had :)
