I can see a number of these getting picked up - there a few others I'm surprised they accepted the high reserve and can't see selling because of it. What do you think?

Picked up Maple // info

Not usually into .info, but for Maple? I'll make an exception.

So anyone have access to the MyID auctions and want to tell us how they're progressing?

Wow, how much do you think it will go for? Surely Canadian in org is worth at least $$$$ even in a wholesale transaction, or am i way off? See so far the bid is just at $80. I see Australian in .org sold for $2100. Does anyone know what Canadian in .com sold for? Not in NameBio, but in GoValue says >$25,000.

Thanks for the heads up re Canadian in .org @DomainRecap

Good question Bob, and it's a brand-new auction so the $80 is just a placeholder for now and it should rise considerably before it's all said and done.

I would estimate higher than Australian.org.

Another interesting one is a certain North Korean Politician.

And just an FYI to everyone, although last week's TBR will likely not be equaled for a very long time (if ever), this week is also shaping up to be quite good so you better hit the bank for more funds.

Who's going to bring home the BACON?

CANADIAN.ORG is now at auction on GoDaddy... :xf.eek:

Nice name, but almost to generic for me. Other flipping it, what could you do with it? I could see the plural being a site with links or resources or products, but I'm drawing a blank on what to do with the singular...maybe a site on what it means to be Canadian?

Virtually any charity or non-profit that begins with "Canadian..." would view it as an upgrade, and there is also the potential for smaller profit-based company to buy it as well.

The first thought I had was some kind of super reference site on Canadian based organizations, indicating their stated purpose, length of time in operation, nonprofit or other status, contact information, etc. This could be helpful, although clearly a big job. Once established I think it would get enough traffic for reasonable monetization of traffic.

Another thought that comes to my mind would be for those who provide immigration related aid to those coming to Canada, or things like foreign worker facilitation, etc.

It would be a great name for a reference site on all things Canadian. Trivia, accomplishments, firsts, etc.

There are several big Canadian businesses that use Canadian prominently, and might have interest, perhaps for a philanthropic arm.

R3.ca went for $1550 at Sibername

Edit:

Susan.ca just closed at $1550 at Sibername as well

Nice ~$3k profit for Siber on just these 2 names alone

These are tricky sells as the .ca extension implicitly says the same thing as a Canadian, or Canada prefix.

I would agree with Josh but I recently looked into how many sales there have been with the word "Canada" or "Canadian", and it's pretty impressive:

- 330 reported sales with the word "Canada" among all extensions (7 were .CA; 17 were .ORG)

- 137 reported sales with the word "Canadian" among all extensions (3 were .CA; 7 were .ORG).

- And total of 485 domains sold when searching "Canad" (counting variations like Canadia.com, which sold for over 3K USD less than a month ago).

I think the only countries that beat us as a keyword is "USA", "China" and "India". USA beats everyone by far, but we're only 200-300 sales behind behind China and India. UK is also up there but there are far too many words that include "uk" in them so it's hard to judge.

I'm 100% certain there has also been a ton of unreported sales with the word Canada or Canadian. Canada definitely has a good reputation, even the domain game :)

I'm bowing out of the auction at $1000 USD. I don't think I would be able to sell it quickly enough. If it was Canada.org I would stick around.

Like I said, this isn't last week in terms of sheer numbers, but it's full of top domains just the same.

The sheer number of female first-names is incredible, even at the halfway point.

I dropped a bunch of mid to low tier ones I registered via a Rebel deal last year. Rightfully so, there was no interest and I'm out a few bucks on the gamble. C'est la vie
