So... in short... Peter most likely just sold this domain to himself? That's what it essentially looks like to me.

I’m guessing that it is a legit sale and Peter did sell it but it does seem strange that he wouldn’t just use it himself with his existing ticket names that he owns and put a site on it.

There's nothing illegal or illegitimate about what we're discussing, it's just semantics.

I mean, if you sold your car to a friend or coworker or boss, it's entirely legal and and represents a valid sale & revenue. Even a relative is fine, assuming it at least FMV.

Yes, you’re right. Sorry, I was not insinuating that it was an illegal or illegitimate sale.

Either way, Both Peter and the new buyer knew the value of the name and I believe that both parties should be happy with the outcome.

Peter didn't "literally" sell it to himself. The transaction was between two different companies, both of which he owns or has a stake-hold in (via joint venture).

    ----

2Tickets.ca was the buyer, and 2Tickets has Billets.ca as the contact info if you do a Whois search. Peter has had a joint venture with Billets.ca since 2009 (unless he has since parted ways with them).

    Truthfully

I would not have purchased ticket.ca even for 5k, I would have purchased tickets.ca though.

Not sure why someone wants to run with ticket.ca because as you can see it forwards to 2tickets.ca. Obviously they were unable to get ticket(s).ca so they are running on 2tickets.ca which in my opinion is also a poor choice. I would have just added a second word.

The website tickets.ca has it right but for some reason my adguard adblocker tagged it as a malware site.

Maybe I got it wrong, and over thinking it. It’s possible these two companies are not closely connected at all anymore. It all depends on what their joint venture was I guess, or what is is today.

I still believe that both hold a lot of value but this could be one of those rare instances where the plural is better than the singular.

I went there too, and their last update was in 2017 - it's probably just a frontend that runs by itself and was potentially compromised by hackers or bots.

I use chrome but have the ad guard ad blocker installed and I get this when I visit.

PS: Adguard the best adblocker in the world!!

If you sideload it (go to adguard.com) on android it will remove the ads from the browser and on every app. No root required and if you want the lifetime license I can get you a sweet deal.

A couple other observations related to the Ticket.ca sale:

    1) Peter started promoting some of his own ticket websites (on Twitter) just a couple days after the domain sold. Apparently he also owns etickets.ca, which i didn't mention in my previous posts:

    upload_2020-1-14_12-26-0.png

    2) Peter also sold Billet.ca in December 2012 for 14,700 USD, to the same person who bought Ticket.ca (ie. the owner of Billets.ca). In other words, Peter sold Billet.ca and Ticket.ca to the same person.
