Hey nP members,

we all know that the TLD space has changed completely.

While we can see many creative and great domains made from new TLDs we can see much more really weird and pointless .combinations - means weird and pointless domain name combinations in the .com extension - it often just looks like that 'it must be a .com in every case - no matter how pointless the name combination itself is'.

There are now so many opportunities to 'label' meaningful domain names with a new TLD - I personally recommend .top for the optimum / best 'label' - don't think .com is the future.

No it doesn't. At the end of the day only one thing gives monetary value to a thing: Demand

Someone has to want the thing, and be willing to pay for it.

Currently there is no demand for your name.

So now answer this.... What will happen to create a demand for your domain name?
You don't have to write always 'So now answer this...'.
I will answer if I want and if I don't I won't.

If you own a thing and you want to sell it not under a specific price, than the demand to it is your own demand.
So the demand is existing.
If the demand from another is stronger than yor own demand, you will sell it.

You give the thing the value through your demand.
The buyer gives the thing the value through his demand.

At the end of the day the thing will be ownd by the person with the stronger demand to own it.

You don't understand. When we own a domain name we own the demand
At least that is how i interpret his comment

The only demand you can own is your own.

What @kingof.top is saying is that he owns it so he gets to determine the sale price.

But no one is going to pay that price unless they want/need the name. Demand.

He needs to create a billion dollar demand from at least one other person. I'm asking him how he is going to do that.

I am not in stress to create a demand.
I still wait to get offers because I believe that there will grow demand in others to get it - just because of the reason you find out here:

Why? Why will demand grow? What will happen to create this demand?

I think the demand will grow because human nature tends to be on top and this domain symbolizes this wish in the clearest way.

Human nature is greedy and selfish. We want the best and we want people to desire the things we have.

Despite what the domain symbolizes, you're the only one who views the name in this way. What is going to happen to get others to see it in this way?

The point is that I believe that I am not the only one who views this domain in this way.
I more believe that there are already others which view it in the same way - because it's the only logical view to that domain.

Where are they? Why aren't they making offers?

Let's try asking it another way...

What is going to make someone see it as valuable and spend millions (or a billion) on it?

I went to domaintools ( dot com)
And searched a virgin.top
It showed as for sale and went to sedo. The whois says
The queried object does not exist:
Name Collision Reservation From ICANN

Status Codes: For more information on Whois status codes, please visit https://icann.org/epp

Does that mean the registry owns it, and has it listed for sale at sedo?

They are on this earth I think.
They are not making offer/s yet becasue their demand hasn't reached the level in which they will make offer/s.

As we agree, it's the intensity of the demand which let you decide to sell it or not / to buy it or not - in example for more than 1,000,000,000.00 USD (more than one billion USD).

Everyone can try to buy it by making his offer/s.

Virgin is a very big brand and trademarked.

I belive .top will overtake .com - regardless of current circumstances.
Everything needs time.

I agree that it will take overtake .com but it will never reach .peak.

Future top 5 TLD:

.peak >.vip > .top >.com >.net

I wouldn't invest in .top unless you can think of a two world phrase that is spoken naturally and often ending in the word 'Top'.
