I couldn't resist to post another domain I saw for sale at Moniker.com. Since here at NP we all can appreciate the real value of domains, I knew this one was a winner, since it relates to our expertise:

domainstodollars.net $8,990,000.00

Of course, the .com version is probably worth $30,000,000!!! :yell:

NP disclaimer: If this domain is owned by a NP member, in no way is this post intended to devalue, ridicule, or really make anyone think your domain is not worth millions! :o

Frank

lol, I do not see that value associated or even making sense for that domain at all. I'm wondering who their pricing guru is on that one....

My broker at Moniker recommended setting unreasonable BINs that were way beyond what I would have set. They know that nobody takes these BINs seriously. OTOH, when you put the same domain into Live Auction, they recommend "no reserve". Gotta love it.

Makes you wonder what type of business strategy those brokers are using? It's almost like they really believe if they set the prices that high, someone will counteroffer with a low price such as $1,200,000.00. Then he would counter offer with $3,000,000.00!
So it sells at $3,000,000.00 , Moniker would get 10% maybe? So, Moniker would get $300,000.00 , and the broker would get 10% too, so $30,000, for 1 domain sold!
We are in the wrong area of selling domains!

What's wrong with you people!
It's $10 million dollar domain.
Owner is generous enough to give $10K discount!

It's bargain!

I just bought the .info one a second ago

I bought it for very expensive price of $0.99 + $0.20 on godaddy

I don't expect to get much much since it's a .info, but i think 1/100 of the .net one ($89,900.00) is reasonable. Anyone?? LOL :D

Thats some very strange logic for them to use IMO.

If I see something with a price tag on it I generally think I "may" have a chance to buy it for around two thirds of the price.....maybe I'm just an :alien:

asking $8,990,000.00! for a $10 domain is just lunacy :|

Would a $1,000,000 offer considered to be lowballing? Hehe

My best guess is it's similar to viral marketing perhaps. Sort of a shameless way to self promote and possibly even drive traffic to the name to help sell it through another source.
