Here are some new ones I have acquired. Wondering what you all think. Thank you for the time.

THEWRITES.COM
WRITEZAP.COM
WRITERALLY.COM
MONSTERWRITE.COM
TEXTTOWER.COM
TEXTALLOWED.COM
COULDWRITE.COM
SCRATCHCHICKEN.COM

I might put some of these up for sale soon.

Bump, thanks.

Any domains that stand out?

They all stand out as having no value whatsoever.
Can you articulate why you bought them? If you intend to develop them as brands, fine. If you bought them to resell, then what about those names made you think they were salable?

See, that's one thing that consistently amazes me about the 'appraisal forum'.
It's almost as if the names that people pay their hard earned money to register are devised in totally random fashion, like monkeys throwing darts at a dictionary.
Then, to further complicate things, the person registering said names has absolutely no clue about what drives value in a domain name platform, yet they still buy these bizarre and worthless names- that mean absolutely nothing to nobody- and proudly post them in the appraisal forum wondering if they have any "value" - like maybe, perhaps, by accident, they might have tripped over something desirable- that even they themselves don't see- and their randomly-concocted, virtually meaningless domains might be 'worth' something to someone else...

Here's a good "Rule 1" before hand-registering a domain name.
If you cannot give five solid reasons as to why a number of other people might want to buy that name from you (other than "Well, uh, it sounds kinda good!") and further, be willing to register that name for five years to demonstrate how much faith you have in it, then don't register it at all.

Sorry to go off on a tangent, but names like this just boggle the mind and I'm sick and tired of watching an asshole like Bob Parsons get rich off enabling these delusions.

Thanks for the note DubDubDubDot, much appreciated.

Dongsman:

I didn't buy them, the orig buyer is dead and they were transferred to me.

and proudly post them in the appraisal forum
the forum is here for just such inquiries right? I did not convey being "proud" of them so don't misquote me.

Sorry to go off on a tangent
good. it was pointless.

I am a developer so I am most likely going to put something on these domains but was curious of other opinions of the value of the domains on their own because I might simply dump some (or all) of them if I can't find a useful purpose for them.

Thanks for the opinions regarding the domain values but leave out the other fluff in the future.

Non of these have any value as names alone.

You just can't buy experience. You can hire it, but you can't buy it. :bingo:

It is rather sad i admit, a guy registers the domains, drops dead 2 hours later from a lack of imagination, and you pop up here with them!

The guy is new; you all (especially Dongsman) can still be honest, but be polite just the same.

He/she is not spamming the forum, just seeking info.

Those of you who have NEVER regged a bad domain, please raise your hand.

;)

None of the OP's domains stand out for me; couldwrite could be branded, perhaps, but it would take lots of work and money.

BTW, welcome, bennh62.

If you decide to get into the domain business, read this forum, especially the newbie thread, before investing too much. There is a lot of good info here, and most of us are patient with new members.

I had been domaining about a year before I found this forum, which is (really) friendly.

Dongsman's having a bad day, I think.

This is what gets up my nose Ms Domainer,

QUOTE "I didn't buy them, the orig buyer is dead and they were transferred to me."

Doesn't inspire confidence I'm afraid.

Until people show otherwise, I tend to give the benefit of the doubt.

Yes, his claim sounds fantastic, and perhaps he did tell a little white lie, but only after Dongsman got on his case.

When I first came on Namepros, everyone was kind to me; otherwise, I probably wouldn't have come back.

Just saying.

Heres a huge clue , domains must be really bad when you cant admit you actually are the one to register them.

Thanks for the comments. I think I will try to do some application building on a few and who knows with the rest, maybe let them expire. I don't think any kind of parked domain revenue is going to cover the reg fees anyway and I don't think that anybody is going to want to purchase these outright.

Thanks for the welcome to the forum Ms Domainer, I will probably use this forum again even though I was somewhat put off at first. Not the end of the world.

I didn't buy them, the orig buyer is dead and they were transferred to me.
BTW, it doesn't matter if people believe how I acquired the domains. It is a fact on how I got them, along with a handful of other intellectual property. It doesn't really matter how I got them but I threw that info out there since I was catching crap for posting in the first place.

... oh what a tangled web we weave...

You do realize that we aren't asking how many angels can dance on the head of a pin here, right?
The day and date these names were registered are a matter of simple public record. Said date coincides precisely with the day and date you posted this thread.

For your "inheritance" story to be true, a chain of events would have to occur that were so extraordinary in nature, not even Santa and the Tooth Fairy wouldn't believe it.

Dude, it's pretty simple. Somebody dies -> domains given to me -> they day they are in my name I post some questions about them in a forum that states they welcome those questions. Not that obscure so WTF? Back off Dong man. Yeah, you can do a whois, give yourself a cookie.

ROFL, that made me laugh

If the Whois has the wrong CREATION date, you should get the info updated IMO.
