Domains dropping from 1and1

Just curious where domains tend to drop from 1and1. Do they have an agreement with Snapnames or Pool?

I'm guessing if they paid 1and1's $40 redemption fee, they aren't going to sell it cheaply. Additionally, dealing with a domain at 1and1 is more hassle than what the domain would be worth.
