liquidcherry is right. NamePros is a great site to help you out with learning about domaining. Not only does it provide many helpful pieces of information, but it has a live community you can actually talk to in order to find out things you need to know about domaining. If you have any questions feel free to ask and someone will almost always be there to give you some advice or help.

Domaining101.com and Domaining360.com - Both used to my sites but I sold last year so I'm not responsible for content but it looks like only minor modifications have been made. BulkRegister.com bought Domaining101 from me and it looks like they only made a halfway effort to redo it.
