strategy Domainer is claiming that his name is not dropping

So there is this domain name I am watching in a drop auction, and he has about 6 days left to renew it, so I just called to see if I could buy it directly, but he asked for an offer, so I offered 100 to get started. The guy was like he was offered 3K for it a few years ago. I told him if he wants to sell it for that, that he has to renew it first. He then tried to say that they have to give him 30 days. That is how it works on godaddy, but I am afraid that on his current registrar, he will be disappointed if he does not renew the domain name. I may end up buying it at auction for way less than he is wanting.

I saw tht name to and was also watching it..i also mailed him but he ignored i guess hes also a domainer and wanted to see how much it would hit before renewing it

I spoke to him on the phone, and he came across rather ignorant to me. He said things that made no sense whatsoever, but that is alright, its his name, he can have it. I would rather have had 48H (48 hours like my 24hrloancenter name).

Wow, That should be a good brand too, its unique. Its finding the end user customer where its tough. Do you get a few inquiries from your own website?

Sometimes, though not as often as Id like, but that is probably because it is a .info and other than having it on URPage, I dont advertise it much. It is not my first focus to sell names, rather make websites on them and make them profitable.

I have made a bunch of websites but the ranking is difficult, even one that had ton's of backlinks dropped and got reindexed with my minor content only. The major site I bought and populated it over a couple months and had 10K pages all indexed, however few rank the long tails obviously- G primarily just scraped my keywords and my info and then used for their ranking the tube videos instead... lol. I am not really laughing though, if you think about it that is why so many of these dropped names that had content were of failed business', personal websites, that got chewed up and spit out.

I used to post youtube videos in the past. I have had millions of views. I am about to graduate college, then I will go for a Masters next year, but thing is, you also have to be involved in social media if you want to be successful in marketing. I started a group several years ago on fb, and it grew to about 90K members, and I published a cookbook out of that, so that is now on Amazon, where people can buy it. Today's marketing is not as simple as some would like it to be, using just domain names. I wish it was, but other than sites like FreeBit.co.in, I dont have that much success with type-in traffic anymore. Point being, domains are great, but you have to draw traffic to them with Facebook and youtube etc...

wow, 90K members? congrats- that's great. I am sort of stuck in the past, as I got in and out of this in the first 10 years, now bored and reentering online again. Yes, I know you are correct, by choice I refrain from facebook, etc. I have ton's of amazon ad's that have not even paid for a coffee, it's like what am I bothering with this. But, It's a hobby business thing anyway for me. I thought the type in traffic would be better, but it isn't. G has really monopolized it, I wish that bing and yahoo would get their act together to compete.

Sir, if you can write, I suggest try writing. Write a book and put it on Createspace, and they will put it on the main Amazon site. That way you can earn an income from sales of your work years after the work is done. There are a lot of different ways to make money online. I made over 6000 dollars from youtube.
