Domain with history

I contacted the end-user about selling my car related domain and they replied that they wanted to know if there was an active website at any point. Using wayback machine I discovered that there was a site at some point in 2004. My question is, how do I respond to that end-user without affecting the sale.

I've had people ask that before as well. Your best bet isn't to lie or beat around the bush, just email them and let them know a previous owner at some time did have a website on there. I've even sent people links to the wayback machine so they can see for themselves.

Use this as a selling tool. The site was previously developed which means it could have some traffic coming into it. Along with that, there may be incoming links to it from the previous owner as well which could also help with SEO.
