Hi

I read this on godaddy.com

" Regulations prohibit transferring a domain name that has been registered or previously transferred within the last 60 days."

Is this only applicable for domains registered with GoDaddy or all registrars. Does it mean GoDaddy will not allow transfers at all.? And does it mean I cannot sell my domains for 60 days?

Anyone registered a domain with GoDaddy and Sold it in 60 days?

Anyone

Thanks in Advance

After registering a name at GoDaddy, you cannot transfer it away from GoDaddy to another registrar for 60 days. (Other members, correct me, here, if I am wrong)-> The last time I was in this situation, I could make the sale to a buyer that established an account w/ GoDaddy, by making an inner-registrar transfer, ("push") to the buyers account.

I think this is standard with all domain registrars. yes you can sell inside the 60 day reg but it has to be pushed to the buyers account within the registrar you hold the name.

I could be mistaken, but I believe the 60 day rule is arbitrary and the "holding" period varies from registrar to registrar.

it may be formally arbitrary, but I think it is pretty standard

You're probably right. I haven't kept up w/ this, therefore, my tentative answers. I do recall a time when 60das was not the norm, and GoDaddy and a few other registrars who held the names for 60 das, were in the minority, but that was a while back.
I think tk got his answer, and I've been updated. Tx :D

You can transfer to another godaddy account at any time as long as it's not expired. godaddy is somewhat unique in the requirement of holding transfers out after a change of registrant (onwership). All registrars require a domain be at a registrar for at least 60 days before transferring to another one, regardless of ownership changes.

If you change ownership of a domain at godaddy, they deny any transfers out (away) to another registrar for 60 days from the date of registrant change. If you buy a domain from someone that's at godaddy within 60 days of expiration, you have no choice but to renew at godaddy. Most other registrars don't make this restriction on already registered domains.

The 60-day waiting period applies to transfers from other registars to godaddy, too. I learned this from experience.
