Hi all.

I was just about to start my first Flippa auctions. However I noticed that Gandi.net states a domain has to be registered for 60 days until it can be transferred to them.

I have just regged three .io domains with Gandi in the last day or so. My question is how soon can you transfer a domain after you have regged it ?

So for example lets say I regged hotels.com yesterday (I wish ;)) March 7th 2015. I have an offer today of $50 and decide to accept before they cart me off for some serious medication.

Can I transfer today March 6th or do I need to wait until 60 days are up until the end of May ?

Do different registrar's have different timescales or it there an industry standard ? Does it make a difference depending on whether it is a .com / .net etc ?

Thanks in advance.

Best,
Paul

You have to wait the 60 days before you transfer out or you can usually transfer to the same registrar immediately

Dont quote me on that when it comes to Gandi.net though

What time zone are you in. It's only March 5th where I am.

you can push within registrar immediately!

Thanks Yogi. I assume you mean if buyer and seller are both with the same registrar ? If buyer is GoDaddy and seller Gandi then 60 days applies ?

Best,
Paul

PS - I wish I was one day ahead. I would be able to hit the best domains in any new gTLDs a day before everyone else ;)

Thanks everyone for your input.

These domains are regged with Gandi. So let's say the buyer is not registered with them. I'm guessing all they would need to do is register their details with Gandi, and the domains could be transferred before the 60 days are up ?

Best,
Paul
