How many domain tasting (for .com) registrars are out there? So far I've only been with 2:

Dynadot - Clear limits that are publicly viewable but delete costs are high
Epik - Super low delete costs but hard to keep track of limits

So would love to know of other registrars that allow domain tasting. Better if the registrar has easy-to-see limits like Dynadot and not so high delete costs.

I stick with Epik exclusively for tasting...too hard to keep up with multiple registrars and expiry, cost, etc. My retention rate is pretty high so limits never come into play.

Thanks for your feedback on domain tasting.
We will review how we can improve the way we display the tasting limits and the costs of deleting names :)

I don't mind low individual limits as long as the limits are clearly displayed. Don't want to get a potential "surprise penalty" just because I tasted a little too much and not knowing that I've tasted too much. Thinking of doing about XX number of tastings in a month, but not sure if this is too much.

So having a list registrars that allow tasting would be good since I can reduce the burden on each registrar. Of course being able to confidently keep many names is always ideal, but that's just not realistic for domainers who are still learning to select better names.

You need to ask Raj V (Epik staff) to activate the tasting status. Or maybe you can just email support.

$0.25 deletion costs per name last I used.

From what he told me long ago, he said that I "need to keep 75% of the domains you register using tasting", and since I didn't always keep track of how many names I bought now I don't know my real limit.

Wouldn't recommend activating since you are looking for type-in names, you'll probably hit the limit super fast. $3 at DDot is still better if you're actually able to get nice type-ins IMO.

is it a lifetime limit?
Like if you bought 100 domains and tasted 25, you need to buy anoither 1000 to test another 25?

They didn't specifically say so but it does look like it.
