Hi NamePros,

I’m the founder of Domain SMS (Domain Self Management System), and I’m posting this as a review/feedback thread to get honest input from other members.

I built Domain SMS for a simple reason: managing a portfolio across multiple registrars and marketplaces gets fragmented fast. Renewal dates, auto-renew status, listings, nameserver management (which itself was a big pain point for me - changing nameservers on 1 domain on GoDaddy used to be a 10 minute process).

Domain SMS is my attempt to bring that workflow into one dashboard.

What it currently does:
- Portfolio tracking and domain management dashboard
- Renewal monitoring (including auto-renew status (and management depending on api provider)
- Email and SMS renewal alerts
- Bulk CSV imports
- Nameserver management and bulk updates
- Registrar integrations (GoDaddy, Namecheap, Spaceship, Porkbun - more soon)
- Marketplace/listing tracking (Afternic, Sedo, Atom, Spaceship Seller Hub)

What I’m looking for from the community:
- Real-world testing from domain investors
- Feedback on usability and workflow
- Suggestions for missing features or integrations
- Critical feedback on what is confusing, unnecessary, or not working well

I'm a developer for 20 years ish, and personally speaking I found this one of the most challenging projects I ever made so far. API is encrypted at rest and users can delete their keys at the integration end any time they wish. Users can also revoke access at any time and delete their data entirely.

The user is fully in control - exactly what I would personally expect when I use similar platforms like this myself. I noticed a few people request a similar tool from time to time on Namepros, and I never found anything like this - so I decided to build it myself.

I’m happy to provide support in this thread and I’ll use feedback here to improve the product.

Phone numbers must be verified, and can be removed at any time. Phone numbers are encrypted.

HI Simon, very interesting project and managing portfolios across multiple registrars is definitely fragmented, especially with renewals and nameserver changes.

A couple of questions from an investor perspective:

1) Does it support large portfolios (1000+ domains) smoothly?
2) Is there any plan for Afternic Fast Transfer status tracking?
3) Any reporting/export features for accounting or renewal forecasting?

Appreciate you building something like this. Tools that genuinely simplify workflow are always welcome in this space. Wishing you success with the project and looking forward to seeing how it evolves.

Thanks for the great questions. Here is what I can say for now:-

1. Large portfolios (1000+): supporting larger portfolios is a core goal. The dashboard is designed to stay usable at that size (pagination/filtering + bulk workflows), and I’m actively testing with bigger real-world datasets.
   
   
2. Afternic Fast Transfer tracking: this is the hard one. Afternic doesn’t currently provide a public API, so reliable automation is limited. I’m still exploring options, but I don’t want to over-promise here.
   
   
3. Reporting/export: this is definitely possible and something I want to add. I need to scope the first version (likely CSV exports + renewal forecasting views) based on what investors find most useful.

Makes sense on the Afternic API limitations better to under-promise and build properly.Renewal forecasting + solid CSV exports would already add serious value for larger portfolios. Looking forward to testing further as it evolves.

Pulling the plug on this project. Not enough sign ups to make it worth the effort. It's a complex project that would require a lot of work to maintain. I think the fundamental issue is lack of trust as a smaller dev so it's always going to be an uphill battle. Will keep for personal use.
