Domain Search - Is someone watching?

Folks,
I did a search at Godaddy this morning. According to the result, it was open.
I did further research on Google. Then decided to reg the name.
TO my surprise, it is no longer available... So I decided to check if the dotNet is available.. I again hesitated.. BUt a few minutes later decided to reg it anyway.. Voila, dotNet version is again regged (I checked whois and found SNapNames got it)..
I wonder if there is some kind of glitch on the checking or somebody is watching?
Any thoughts?

Godaddy registration checking isn't in real-time.
(sounds like that is problem on dotNET)

What date are they registered ?

i search godaddy all the time- and leave names, and come back and get them. very rarely are the names taken. and i search alot of names.
