Hello,

I wanted to understand which domain reseller program offers best pricing. What are the volume and pricing for some of the major domain resellers.

Thanks!

Godaddy/WildWestDomains I would say product pricing for COM/NET is around $7-$8..It may be cheaper if you have a bigger reseller plan (Basic/Pro/Super).

ResellerClub is around $9-$10 for COM/NET

eNom is around $8 to $10 for COM/NET..Once again, it really depends on how big of a reseller package you get.

OnlineNIC is also around $8-$10..Once again, it really depends on how big of a reseller package you get (Platinum/Gold/Silver/Bronze)

I can only go offer the pricing from my own reseller accounts. But, I would say GoDaddy/WildWestDomains has the cheapest. At the same time, it costs more to become a reseller with them as opposed to some of the others. In the end, I guess it comes down to how many domain registrations you think you'll be able to pull in.

@FPForum thanks a lot..

Currently I am having couple of accounts with few providers. I was looking at other options, but most of the providers have not publishes the rates and slabs.

My resell.biz price for .com is at present $8.61. I was wondering if there are any other better options available.

How about TPP Wholesale and Hexonet, how good are they and what are their prices like?

@NeoGen I think your resell.biz pricing is pretty good actually, and they are cheaper than GD (Free reseller registrations I believe)... As for Hexonet and TPP, I've never used their Reseller accounts before, with Hexonet mainly because you don't have to be a reseller for API access. One thing I can say about Hexonet is that they don't have an "internal transfer" option..So, pushing to another Hexonet account is pretty much impossible. I think they give pricing and more info Here

You could also checkout CrazyDomains..Although they also charge for reseller accounts.

@FPForum Great, thanks for hexonet link.

In fact I am not even aware of what are the best slabs and respective prices, including that of resell.biz. So good, seems I am on a better slab.

It depends what you want. Do you want an API reseller or a storefront? As for API resellers, I've used eNom, OpenSRS, Internet.bs, NameSilo and ResellerClub. At this point, I'm gonna have to say that NameSilo is your best bet. Price starts at $8.99 for .com and declines based on volume, support is pretty good, no payment processing fees, etc.

@alanchau thanks for suggestion. I use them for my own domains, so I dont need any API etc. As mentioned earlier, my cost price with resell.biz is $8.61. So I am just exploring and trying to understand, if there are any better options in the market.

Internet.bs has better price than namesilo. Any views?

Are you asking for a reseller account being you want to be a reseller or because you think that the prices will be better than retail registrars? If you're not planning on reselling and only want the best price (not factoring WHOIS privacy), check out NameBright.com. I believe it's around $8.53 or if you pre-fund your account, it's $8.03 (registry cost). I have no experience with them, however.

Internet.bs should be $8.99 for transfers/registrations and $9.38 for renewals. $8.79 if you pay by wire transfer and $8.49 if you have 2000 or more domains and pay by wire transfer.

@alanchau thank you. I dont resell, I use them for myself.

I have accounts with following:

Resell.biz @ 8.61 : No additional fee to add fund
TPP Wholesale @ 8.81 : No additional fee to add fund through CC (I used them when they were distributeIT)
Hexonet @8.79 : No additional fee to add fund through CC, paypal there is a fee. Whoislite is 0.18

I was thinking to use Hexonet and/or TPP again, hence I was trying to ascertain my pricing in comparison to what they are currently offering. Seems, I still have good pricing from them. But overall I feel that I will should continue with resell.biz.

Namebright is interesting, but there are some mixed feedback about them.

If it's for yourself, and if you spend only $500/yr, then Dynadot gives you $8.75 .com prices. If you spend at least $5000/yr then Dynadot gives you $8.50 .com prices and free privacy. You can prepay the $500 and start using the $8.75 pricing immediately. There is no fee charged to top-up or pay via PayPal.

I think your best other alternative to Dynadot, would be NameSilo. They are really a domainers registrar with lots of free goodies such as privacy. Their discount pricing for 0-99 domains in your account is $8.89, 100-499 $8.79, 500+ $8.69. See the pricing on their website. They have a good, understandable control panel also.

Both of these are free. GoDaddy's Domain Discount Club gives you $8.49 .com prices for an annual fee of $120 (just gone up), but coupons could reduce this by about 35%. They are not domainer friendly, imho. But they do have a great control panel, and most buyers want their domains to be at GoDaddy. So an easy push. There are usually also a lot of cheap coupons for new registrations.

I am continuing with UK2 (resell.biz) and hexonet.

Testing waters with namesilo. I am not sure whether I will continue with them.

Namebright seems interesting, will check them out after some time.

I believe you get that pricing if you pre-fund $500 or more.

Two reasons.. a) I have spent more than $500 (in fact way more than that) and b) I have a very old account with them, since stargate days. So is the case with my Hexonet and TPP accounts.

If you pre-fund a Dynadot account with $500 you get $8.75 registrations all day long :)

interesting.

if I do that once, then spend it down (let's say to under $50), does the price stay $8.75 indefinitely?

@cdboard - You just have to retain a balance spent over the previous 365 days, which includes top-ups, of $500, to retain the $8.75 registrations. (Basically spend at least $500/year). They will send you an email if you are about to lose your bulk pricing priviledges. So no worries that you might lose your Bulk Pricing by surprise.
