Hey, i am contemplating whether purchasing this tool or not, at $129.99 its a lot of money however looks really good and well worth the investment, however i am wondering what you guys think about this tool?

Indeed it is, aye i first saw it there for $249 but after a bit of research found it cheaper from an affiliate.

it is normally listed at 249$ but you can get from someone else for 129.99$ i think.
myself i did not pay the full price for it i got it from some affiliate link.
it is worth if you scan big quantities of domains, but not so useful if you just use on small batch of domains.
another thing, you will need a proxy list to make it work properly, it is not included in the package and you should get it from somewhere else.
that part i don't like too much, due i am always looking to update my proxy list.
but it is still a good tool.

It's a good tool.

Whether and when you break even on your investment depends on many things, but mostly on how much time you have to invest in research and how much money you have to invest in domains.

If you are a full-time domainer (which already presupposes you have the required intelligence, experience and imagination to survive in this very competitive business) and you have enough funds to turn most of your good ideas into good domains, then most likely you'll break even within a relatively short period of time.

You may want to check out www.FreshDrop.net . I has domains that are already prescanned so you don't even have to wait for the domains to be scanned.

I did pay for it as well and I found it very useful despite the issue with the Proxy lists.

Bob, are all the domains selling for $5.00 and could you explain what scanned and prescanned domains mean as I've never gotten into buying dropped Domains.

There are different parts, 'Closeout' domains are $5 + reg fee (Buy it Now), 'Expired Names' start at $10 + reg fee but are auctions. Sedo names are domains on sedo auctions.

All domains on freshdrop are already scanned, meaning that the analytics are available immediately. Something like DRT (Domain Research Tool) you would have to input your domains into the tool and have the tool scan the names for you. The scanning is based upon how many domains in your list, something like 10,000 names may take it a day to scan... whereas Freshdrop has about 200,000 domains already scanned at your fingertips.

I'm a part time domainer and purchased the DRT tool for $129 a few months back.
Is it a good tool?. Well I suppose if you need a one stop tool that would have all the analytics in one place, then yes, but it's not as simple as it looks, you still have to do a lot of research to find quality domain names (which I stupidly thought this tool would do for me).

I find it useful it looking for bulk domains that have not been registered, though I do have to admit that with OVT not working now, it's a little discouraging that this tool cannot use OVT to help us look for quality domains.

One questions though. Almost all the Pagerank is flagged as fake.
When i do a pagerank check it does seem valid. Why is it flagged as fake?
Will the domains lose their PR after you buy it becourse of new ownsership or something?

BTW, the latest D.R.T version is not installed automatically (unlike most of the previous ones) so it needs a manual update - just in case you were wondering why your copy of D.R.T is not doing what it's supposed to do.
