hows afternic do for you ?I've created my own website to control how I sell or lease mine. It's a slow process but I'm getting it done and I also have them up on afternic. I decided if I wanted control and to save on fee's, I needed to do it myself.
Honestly, not the best. It's another reason I've decided to start my own website.hows afternic do for you ?
Starting one is the best idea, but you gotta find your own traffic...Honestly, not the best. It's another reason I've decided to start my own website.
Yes, very true. I'm working on that right now.Starting one is the best idea, but you gotta find your own traffic...
i can see that, I'd be willing to lease, but i have no idea how much the sale value of my domains is ?I've seen a lot of articles by various registrars talking about renting domains, but none of them actually offer a rent service like what they wrote about. Not sure why (Maybe due to higher liability potential).
Lease to own has become more main-stream but just a flat out rental with no option to buy hasn't caught on very good, it seems.
I have come across a couple independent large portfolio holders that are starting to add a rent option (Though they still have loreum Epsum template text in those areas).
Personally, I think a rented domain (With no buy option) is much more riskier to the domain owner than a lease (With buy option). A rented domain, with no intent to buy seems like it would have a 80% higher probability of scam/spam abuse that could destroy the domains future potential and value.
There's still that chance with a lease option and them bailing on payment #3, but I don't think it would be as rampant as a rental.
If you've ever rented a car, boat, hotel room, cabin, RV, apartment or a house to someone else, you have probably experienced how much people trash them, not caring about the security/cleaning deposit, leaving you with maintenance and repair bills to bring the value back up.
Now, apply that same careless renter principle to a domain name and try to imagine the havoc and damage they could do to it, leaving you to clean it up.
I guess, I'm just not seeing how the positive outweighs the negative for a domain rental, versus a domain lease, that has slightly more owner protection in place (But not much).
