I have domain that i am interested to buy. Very popular name in general. Estibot estimates around $1300. However, the domain i am thinking to buy contains 2 hyphen in it. Does having the hyphen make the domain invaluable ? Appreciate the feedback

Hyphen is generally not advised.

By the way, welcome to the forum. If you need fast answers you can always ask. There is also a search bar at the top right. Try it out. Put in the word hyphen and you'll get much more info on hyphens.

Don't listen to Estibot... Estibot is stupid.

I am not sure why people still believe in appraisal?
The price of a name is established when the buyer and the seller are agreed.

Some people are still even begging for higher appraisal!!!
For the same name, a small company will pay for $500 and a big company will pay for $50,000

MessMeBot will not help you buy or sell the name.

2 hyphens sometimes are not so bad as domainers from the USA use to think
it all depends

Hyphenated domains do still have value..... (not as much as the non hyphenated version of the domain but they certainly aren't worthless)

Check out some of the hyphenated sales on Namebio:
https://namebio.com/?s=AM4UTN5YDO

Also keep in mind that Google Ignores the hyphen so Hy-phen.com will be read as Hyphen.com by google so hyphenated domains will still carry the same exact match domain clout as the non hyphenated alternative.

Something to keep in mind though is that hyphenated domains would probably take longer to sell.

Single hyphen is acceptable in some cases. Double hyphen has no value

I believe he meant judge--mind.com. In this case there are some Chinese sales, but I wouldn't invest in

maybe I'm wrong? But none the less, I personally would never invest in a three word domain that has 3 hyphens, there are far better options.

as a new investor, I would definitely stay clear of these types of names. There are very limited buyers. If you are persistent on hand registering .com domains I would look for 2 word domains with no hyphens. You can use a few different tools to help you decide what to buy, probably my fav is Leandomainsearch.com

Buy the domain and post it in appraisal section. You will get expert views if it is worth or not. If you get negative reviews, you can cancel the domain and ask for a refund from registrar.
