Domain picked up from under my nose

I was after a domain that was due to expire on 12th March. Put a bid in with snap. On 13th March, snap control panel still says "due to release 12th march"

Yesterday I emailed snap who replied, "watch this space"

Checked my snap just now and domain has gone to "backorder" and picked up by "protected domain services"

are these the fabled "tasters" ? and whats my next move?

Back order via snap or just accept it and move on?
