Domain Parking

With all my domains parked I get 100 unique hits per day but no clicks? That is not very good is it? Can I improve this?

You might be able to but it will depend on several factors.

#1. Where are they parked at?

#2. What type of template are you using?

#3. What keywords are you using?

#4. How long have you had them parked?


Once I get this info I can help you a little more.

This was for the first night at above.com. Appears they alternate between NAmedrive, Sedo , Bodis and Voodoo.

I don't believe I put in any keywords at all

Perhaps I should

A Give it more time
B Park them somewhere where i can put in my own keywords

I've never used above.com however , what they are doing is putting you on a rotation of those different companies. They will try to optimize it for you over the next few days.

That being said, I still have a problem with 0 clicks. In my opinion you should have at least 20 clicks (20%). There are some who will agree and disagree with my stats but I've found 20% , over the last 5 years, to be a realistic C.T.R.


Watch it carefully over the next few days and if above doesn't work out sign up with those other companies by yourself and handle your account by yourself .

Well, you can take a note of the following as well:

1- Which stats are you reading your hits from? If they're from above.com, are they under Hits or Uniques? If it's not the latter then forget about them as they won't count as proper PV's.

2- The 100 hits you're getting, how many domains generate that number? If it's more than a 100 then it's not unusual not getting any clicks! Even if you have 50 names parked and they get 2 views each, would you expect to get 1 click with a CTR of 50%? I wouldn't.

3- You can still set your own keywords by doing it on every individual account that you've included in your Above.com account and those keywords will be used when above.com calls that specific parking platform.

4- A better way of doing this would be park all your domains at Voodoo for instance for 1 week and then assess the traffic and then use Above.com for a week or 2 - now you have 2 sets of figures to go by at which stage you could decide where to leave them which would benefit you most.

PS- It could be dangerous when you supply incomplete set of info, so it would have been advisable to have included how many domains would (did) generate those PV's!

I've never used above so wasn't aware of what it did.

Regarding CTR 10% is great as well. I was simply giving him a rough figure to work with. Sure, some of my domains have 10%, 3% etc... but over the 5 years of doing this it balances out to roughly 20%.

Ok I have over 200 domains parked. Looks like my traffic is coming mainly from 5 or so domains. CTR is about 3 % currently. I will now try to up the CTR rate. Also the Clicks are coming from domains you would least expect. On e is an .info and one is a .mobi. Interesting!

We're talking 2 different types of optimization. I'm talking about advertisement optimization versus trying to get on the front page of Google and so on.

Hey, I just wanted to say, I was always skeptical about all this Google Ad Word stuff and companies paying you for parking. I have done the domaining thing in a weird way. I have been keeping the best ones, scurried away, I suppose the registrars just pocket the extra cash.

If you have 200 or so domains (which I do) some with some great exat search stats like 204k or 32k or 18k, if you have dozens like this how much cash a month can you realistically make?

I would also love to know that what exactly you are earning anyway I personally feel that parking domain is not paying as some adsense program can way. Where One would be free to write that is really important to stop any visitors.
