Domain getting valuable clicks and lots??

Hi All,

I have a .net domain that got about 2-5 clicks per month for the last few months then all of a sudden, this month I'm getting about 10 clicks a day at over $1.00 per click !

I saw another post recently about a similar phenomenon--what causes this? I mean the domain is a really excellent 2 word .net, but now if this keeps up I will be very happy.

Domain is also NOT in the adult/gambling or any other 'shady' area either.

The only thing I could think is there is an interested buyer who is checking it like everyday, but just hasn't made me an offer yet.

Anyway, I have two questions:

1) What causes this?

2) I've heard domains can sell for 10 years worth of revenue. Does that mean if this domain makes (conservatively) $200 per month that it is all of a sudden worth $200 x 12 months x 10 years = $24, 000 ???

Any advice or insight would be gretly appreciated.

It could be many things. The .com could be down. There could of been a press release, somebody promoted the domain, somebody linked to your domain, your domain could of been indexed etc.

As for the value of the domain because of the PPC, it will help, but it has to be consitant and you have to know where your traffic is coming from. If the domain is generic and it's just getting direct type in, those hold the most value.
