Domain expired and cannot transfer!

Hey all,

Im a newb,

I listed some domains up for auction, someone won the item and paid me. when i went in to transfer it, i just realised that it expired yesterday.

Now what do I do? because it will not let me transfer it as it has expired already. I dont want to pay to renew it though..

You may not have a choice. If the buyer is kind enough, he/she may reimburse you for the renewal. But you will need to renew the domain name before it goes into the redemption period because then you will not only have to pay to renew it but there will be a high priced redemption fee to go along with it. If you dont renew the domain then it will just end up expiring and you will no longer be able to sell it to him/her.

He already sold it to him, got the money so he has no other choice IMHO......besides that, what is the prob with renewing it, it wouldn't cost a leg(if it is not an exotic extension)...OP, see it as lesson learned

thanks for all the replies..

this is what had decided to do.
message the person and explain the situation, then see whether they would pay $5 for it to be renewed.

the customer agreed, so i helped him renew 1yr it for $5..
the renewal price should be around $8 but i had a godaddy coupon code which took it down to around $7. so i tiped in $2..

all sorted! and got positive feedback too :D
