question Aged Expired Domain

Hello. I want to ask a couple of questions about aged expired domains.

When purchasing an expired domain, the age of domain will be reset ?

I won an auction but 3 or 4 days later, I received a mail. It says that my order canceled because the original registrant has renewed the domain. I knew that it can happen but i wanna ask how much he paid for renewing.

For example a domain expired on June 1, 2015. The auction finished August 1, 2015 (turning the wheel). I purchased it. When will the domain expire ? June 1, 2016 or August 1, 2016

ah..godaddy customer? this is normal practice people do, some people see the response in auctions and at the last moment they renew it..

No it was dynadot do they pay redemption fee + renewal fee ? Or just renewal

Ans. closeout domain listings are done after the the domain expiring auction ends. Its a buy it now auction where every day the price reduces from 12 to 5 + the renew fee. It the last chance to grab the domain with its age. If no one buys during that time the domain gets removed from icann database and the age reset to 0 days.

There is an important distinction between expired domains and dropped domains. Godaddy sells domains after the original registration has expired, but before the domain is dropped. In this case, the age of the domain is NOT reset. However, if you use a service like Namejet, Snapnames or DropCatch to catch a dropped domain, the age IS reset.
