Following implementation of the Board approved budget provision that affects the "domain tasting fee," names added and subsequently deleted during the five-day AGP declined from approximately 17.6M in June 2008 to 2.8M in July 2008. Of the 2.8M AGP deletes in July, approximately 2.6M were subject to the registrar-level transaction fee defined by the provision.

Don't think the domain name you saw as available will remain that way if you
don't register it on the spot, though.

Not sure if I trust these numbers or not. I do agree the "little guy" has a way better chance at grabbing a PD domain name now, but SnapNames, eNom, BuyDomains and many other's are grabbing the "good ones" and normally Faster then you and I could get it.

The other day I went for a few drops and BuyDomains used one of it's many registrars and grabbed all the domains I was going for... DropsMart.com and TradeInMyCar.com are a couple but companies like this are having a Fields Day with PD drops now! They are getting Better Domains, at cheaper prices and less comp!

The rich get richer, the poor get poorer!

It sure seems like you need a registrar to survive in the drop game still if you ask me. :bah:
