Domain deletion problem

I recently registered a cctld that was expired. I contacted the registry and they deleted it for me and I paid 2 years worth of reg fee to register it. Then, a few days later, they said the domain was given to me "by mistake" and they were refunding my money.

They claim the domain was still in the grace period, despite no grace period being listed on the site with regards to expired domains.

Can a registry just delete a domain in this case?

Sure they can. The Registry is the big boss of the domain extension, especially ccTLDs.

It'll certainly be helpful if they post a "lifecycle" on the ccTLD. But...they don't really have to unless forced to somehow.

This actually happens more often then it should. No registrar is perfect. They all have their glitches and make their mistakes. If it's a really good name, you may want to place a backorder on it. That's up to you though.

You tell me about it, I try to renew one of my names, the registry doesn't process it, and YOU took IT :P.

VuNic is a bitch. Someone read my thread, took half my names cause the registry didn't process my payment.

The guy is a full time domainer, so i doubt they are just gonna let it expire... im suprised the registry just let it delete, they take their time usually, call the owner or what not.

Yes you can consult relevant provider. Other wise you can transfer the domain with who is providing the best service. Because some websites are providing the best service. Without changing your domain name you can transfer the domain.

yes, you can chooose other company which can offer the best services without mistake. my company is one of them.
