I recently bought this domain, which I thought would be a really good investment to later sell. But was wondering if I would be in some legal trouble since Instagram is a trademark?

Instagram is very active in protecting their trademark. I would not mess around with domains like this.

$0 Value in my opinion. It could be as much as negative value if it cost you legal fees. Don't mess around with trademarks like this. You made a simple mistake some make, there are no end-users or reseller buyers for it. No one would touch it with a ten-foot pole.

Thx for the info, I guess I will get rid of it and try to get my money back

This has certainly been a learning experience for me. Thx for the useful information, hopefully the place I bought it from give me a refund.

hopefully the place I bought it from give me a refund.

So for .com domain's Verisign allows the registrar 5 days to cancel the domain for a refund. Some registrar's offer limited refunds for free (Sav) or some charge a small fee (dynadot) only within the first 5 days. These refunds are called grace deletes.

If you were to request a grace delete after the domain has been registered for 5 days, then your registrar would not get the wholesale price they paid to Verisign refunded. Therefore it's highly unlikely your registrar would take a loss and refund you since your domain has been registered for more than 5 days.

Still, despite not being able to get a refund, it's likely in your best interest to delete the domain prior to the expiration.

Sometimes it helps to get a nP appraisal within the first 5 days of registering your domain, so when situations like this arise, the registrant is still able to get a refund.

**Check the refund policy with your registrar, as each registrar has different refund policies.
