I thought to come here because I remember a lot of the members here are poker players, and it's so hard to find people in a poker site that actually speak. I've been looking around for information on the subject, but nothing seems to have been updated since April regarding the issue. I'm just wondering if there is any progress and how long to expect this to go on, and if sites like Full Tilt will ever be open to US players for real money games anymore.

That's a good question. I haven't heard anything since April or so. I'm hoping FullTiltPoker comes back in full to US users. I have $90+ in my account lol

FTP and PS won't re-open to US players for real money games - that was a condition of them getting their .com domains back. They are supposed to be returning money in US player accounts ... I think PS already has or is in the process?

The next time real money play is avaiable to people in the US it will be taxed, regulated and under government control ...

I wouldn't mind this, personally.

I wouldn't mind if FTP was taxed and such, as long as I could play there. The site is so complete that I haven't been able to find any other place that is as good.

Why would you think they would go back to real money play for US players?

Agreed. And it would also be a much better way to address budget deficits than taking money away from the elderly and the poor.:imho:

Even if they regulate it, I'd say there's no way they'd let any of those 4 have a piece of the pie - not after this! My guess is they'd partner up with one or more of the US-based casinos.

Found the official statement on the DOJ's agreement with PS and FTP

This is going to be a long time issue, you wont see US play for money come back anytime soon. Better get used to play for free.

The FBI is pressuring the Australian federal police to shut the sites down to Australians now, i pulled my funds out of PS last week.

I still have some $ in FT but im taking that out too ASAP.

My guess is they are going to make a big example out of all involved and make it near impossible to not be extradited for those wanted.

A total shambles caused by haters with no clue IMO, why they didnt regulate this whole sector long ago avoiding this fiasco is beyond me.

I dunno,

With DC and Nevada actively pushing legislation for online poker I think the DOJ action is tied into that effort. By taking away the online poker players vehicle for play you cause a vacuum or space for the new online poker venture.

Harry Reid can look like the Knight on a white horse again by bringing back an outlet for online gamblers. The "squeeze" will force business through certain states and of course touted as revenue building legislation passed by a "certain" political party. We'll see hints of it in out 2012 political ads.Just in time for all the online players to vote for the bill supporters. :guilty: starting w/ NV and DC ...... hmmm :]

Intra state gambling allows states to realize income streams.
"Online" cyber space gambling does not. So once again online
gambling is a bad thing unless the state or government gets
a cut.

Morals with a price tag.

It good for nevada to have some policys in place so they can get a jump on other states just incase.

Full tilt poker has 60mil and owes its players 300 mil They been giving themselves millions from player "pot"

Something is up with these types of sites I am on adsense and got email saying these ads are back and how to block them if your site does not want to show those types of ads. So that must mean that they are up to something?
