if not. could you please post afew registers who offer free whois protection. thank you.

GoDaddy do it occasionally with a voucher code.

Otherwise 'privacy' costs $8.99pa

any services who offer free whois protection. even if you have to put it on manually. i know optinom offers it.

Free whois protection at GoDaddy is available when you register 3 or more domains. As to ItalianDragon's question, people can still get in touch with you through the whois email address provided you set up your DomainsByProxy account to forward your emails. (I believe the default setting is to forward all non-spam emails, but I'm not sure about the reliability of their spam filter--i.e. if they are filtering out emails one may want. Thus, I set my account up to receive all emails.)

i'm not looking to sell this domain i'm going to register with whois protection.
i just don't want my personal details seen due to many personal factors like i live at home with my parents.
