or are you swayed by the collective opinions of others ,,statistics charts ect of how much to pay for domains or do you use your own intuition gut feeling to move you on your choices of names that you buy....
or maybe both,,,,???

I tend to pay way more for domains than the charts say. It is just urges I get, call them hunches I don't know. I know I am not alone because I have seen others pay more at times too. It's definately personal.

I agree with Kerrijo.

Sometimes I feel like I'm playing with shares, and I have this 'urge' that tells me this is a good buy, or sell that asap.

Tho not always right, they do give me confidence :)

LOL

That's a quote from a diehard domainer if I ever heard one. But seriously, it does make sense to keep great brandable domains that haven't a chance in the world at making a dime on PPC (or covering the yearly renewal fee). That's where belief in resale for development comes into play. Also, as the Internet grows, those 5 could turn into 25 and bid prices could rise.

I personally enjoy buying domains and believe that they make great investment vehicles if purchased at the right price.

You have to follow your instincts - sometimes a buy appears to be at a good price and feels right, even though you may not find an end buyer for several months / years.

Dont always rely on the herd, have faith in yourself and your abilities, particularly if it is in a niche that you actually know something about, which then puts you ahead of probably 95% of everyone else!

It is not the traffic - it is the potential.
PS.LA = three views in August, no clicks. I do not mind.

While I follow hunches on occasion, I generally go by letter frequency. This is why I focus on short domains. Well, that and the fact that I cannot make sense of keyword domain prices.

I tend towards buying flowers before the bud has yet opened
they last so much longer and its a fun surprise to see the color it will become...
Also domains that will teach me about their inherent potential..
thas why ppc.us and seo.biz was acquired hoping one day they will reveal
their secrets
