Maybe this is a silly question Coz I seldom use a 123456789 traditional keypad mobile phone, I am a happy qwerty PPC/Palm Phone user. :)

My question is, do you guys think that to input NNN is really easy on a mobile phone?

I tried a samsung phone, when I chose the "input url" function, the default setting is English input, so if you want to input NNN, you have to switch to num mode first. Or maybe there are some method e.g. holding the key to input number and short click the key to input a letter? Even like this, do you still think to input NNN is much faster than input a generic word or LLL?

Of coz I didn't test this on other smart phone, which may use an Opera? so I don't know how to input NNN faster. But I do saw many threads here and there focus on NNN.mobi, the only reason a lot of people would like to purchase NNN.mobi simply because of they think input NNN would be much faster than LLL or words, quoted "you just need to click key for 3 times".

So may I assume if the Browser company like Opera or mobile manufactures they set the default input method for mobile browser as English, then input generic words or LLL may sometimes faster than input NNN?

There must be some way to enhance the experience of user input in future. :yell:

I've yet to join the Smartphone revolution (i've only just started using my phone for anything other than texts !)
However, I read elsewhere in namepros forum, that some phones have a "shift-key", or a "toggle-key". My old Nokia lets you enter numbers just by holding down the corresponding key instead of just pressing it, whilst entering letters.

The main thing for us .mobi investors (and indeed, investors in any TLD), is memory-factor;
How easily can someone remember a long number, as opposed to a long word.
But I think that short LLL / NNN names will always carry a premium.

Changing the way that information is entered into a device, will improve matters; for instance, voice recognition has come a long way thanks to increased processing-power. Finally, fast and accurate speech analysis is a reality on the desktop PC. I don't think it will be long before its hard-wired into Mobile Devices.
