advice Do you buy the exact match .com if you buy the gTLD?

I see a lot of for sale gTLDs and ccTLDs where the exact match .com is unregistered.

For example let's say you have Keyword.co. Do you also buy KeywordCo.com if it's unregistered?
If not - wouldn't the buyer likely just hand reg that vs buying the ccTLD?
Some ccTLDs may make less sense, KeywordIo.com? Hmmm.
Obv .ai is very hot and perhaps registering KeywordAi.com is quite worthy if it's unregistered.
Same question for gTLDs. Keyword.tech for example where the term KeywordTech.com is unregistered. Not sure KeywordXyz.com makes much sense though.

It also appears to me that if the name in .com is unregistered perhaps this should give one pause, since the name has been sitting there. Or do you feel the more concise nature of ccTLDs and gTLDs make them more worthy than the .com counterpart?

I do that if the tld (cc or g) is a widely used word or term, such as ai, now, tech etc (sometimes fi), but those corresponding dotcoms are very rarely available if the keyword is so good that I'm interested in the cc/gtld in the first place.

However, it boggles my mind that there isn't a marketplace where it would be extremely easy to sell combos. Not only keyword.tld & keyword+tld.com, but also singular & plural .coms, IDN & non-IDN versions, American & British spellings etc. Of course I can explain the possibility of package deals in lander descriptions or via brokers etc but that is cumbersome compared to how convenient everything could and should be.

That's a great idea. Hopefully a marketplace picks up on it and adds it to their offering(s). @Atom.com @Sedo @GoDaddy - perhaps allow sellers to sell "combos" (2 domains in one) as described above?

Yea, this is my worry. Perhaps if I find both types available I should avoid them both.
