I got a few domains im looking to buy and was just wondering if they would sell before I buy them.

For example if the domain was:

ringsi.de

that spells out ringside.

Would they sell for a good price because they link up to make a word?

Hi, they are referred to as 'Hacked Domains' and there is a body of people who think they are worth investing in and developing. Little if anything is generally earned by just parking the domains though.

Hope this helps.

Ok , one last question , what do you think something like ringsi.de would sell for?

I don't see it as a great domain but then again, it could sell pretty well to a ticket broker. If you can get this cheap, you should take the chance :)

domain hacks are very special domains, hard to sell btw.

Agree with above comments. We have no real domain hacks (as far as I know).. they will certainly be tough to sell to a reseller, and your best bet would certainly be to monetize them (dev' em) based on the niche.

In the niche of ringsi.de ... try ticket broker affiliate programs (on CJ, GAN, Linkshare, integrate with the eBay Partner Network, etc..)

Just be sure to have some non-sale content on your site(s) as well... otherwise you can kiss your search engine placement goodbye.

I'm skeptical. Does Google actually rank them higher because of the name? I can't imagine visitors actually typing a hack name into the address bar on a whim.

I don't like hacks, does anyone know any domain hacks that are actually popular without crazy money spent on marketing like del.icio.us?

they work especially well for link shortening site names

exactly -> for Google -> shorter = better, you still have both keywords. Such domain might lose some returning traffic due to mistypes, but for good project, people get used it easily. And domain hack is usually more affordable then keywordkeyword.com so people with average budget rather take those.

So it's quite good domain. I have only one domain hack -> webmasterinter.net probably not as good as was del.icio.us :D
