I've been pondering over this question for the past few day.
I wonder which one would be more valuable?
-> My(keyword).com
vs
-> (keyword).(gTLD)

.US domains.US domains
Well, My(keyword).com has a track record of demand via end user sales and usage.
It would depend on the specifics, but it is a very popular format.

I would always go with the .com over the other choices. There are a few example where the .gTLD's were ok, but most people still want the .com.

Many of the new .gTLD'c cause confusion with potential site visitors/customers/etc. so they type in the name and put .com on the end.

Thanks for the inputs..
Also where would My(keyword).com stand in comparison to (keyword).com domains?

The shorter is generally the better, adding "my" to the front in most cases will devalue the domain. But if you are wanting it as a brand rather than a flip then if you like the name go with your heart.

Great question... I also prefer the .COM over other extensions, however, the choice you are presenting makes it hard to give a definite answer. For example, if you give me MyMoney.com or Money.club, I am pretty sure Money.club will sell for much more than MyMoney.com.

So, it would depend on the keywords we are talking about and on the GTLD.

Well, without the "My" is always much, much better from a sales standpoint most of the time. The main thing is that most people want to buy .com domains for their websites/businesses/etc., so they are best from a money making potential standpoint.

However, as most everyone knows, most of the keyword domains are already registered and getting a domain with a keyword alone is gonna cost you. So, what many people do is add something to the front or behind the keyword. It's not something I am a fan of most of the time, but I guess it can make sense in certain cases.

It basically comes down to making sure the whatever word that you add to the domain, makes sense and goes well with that keyword. Some people put some really weird stuff with a keyword and then wonder why nobody wants to buy it.

If you do choose to use another word like "My" in front of a keyword, just make sure it is appropriate and fitting to the keyword. ;)
