Hi Buy Domains,

Yes I know lots have people have purchased the term. Lots of people buy domains with the term iphone in it, doesn't mean that they will be able to use the domain.

I am just saying the tradmark is owned by Microsoft:

https://trademarks.justia.com/865/34/hololens-86534966.html

I have no problem with whatever domains you want to register. I think people are just trying to help you out that is all :)

I wish you all the best with your future domaining.

godaddy has a filter that doesnt allow me to post trademarked names on their auction or cashparking .... those samsung and hololens were not filtered out as some of my others were

there are hundreds if not thousands of sites with those company names in them .... godaddy does not allow a few of my domains to be listed on auction but these are and like I said hundreds of others too.

So thats ok then, it just plain wrong and unprofessional to infringe on someones TM, this is what gives us domainers a bad name. See how you reputation goes on here if you register names like that. You will find people dont want to do business with you and people try and avoid trademarks names anyway

If you saw someone shoplifting and getting away with it, does it make ok for you to go and do it, cmon this is common sense, anyone can see that!!

godaddy has a filter that doesnt allow me to post trademarked names on their auction or cashparking

No it doesnt, have a look at the TM names on GD, and do you notice they are still listed for sale after being on there for years, it might be a sign

Its simple, just check here before regisering names

Seriously though, Samsung and Microsoft?? could you mess with a bigger fish?

Just take it as a lesson learnt and move on

Hey guys... i hope i can be honest with you and not worry about offending either of you, because i'm trying to not come off like one of the flamers that used to flame me back in the day... i know what it's like to be on both sides now and if i can help, rather than upset you guys, then maybe i can help save you both from spending a lot of 'dead end' money.
I know it's exciting to find a new tech that you believe in and all the cool ways it may be used... but one thing that you should try and always remember is that just because something is a word, or a 'thing' or even a purpose - that does not mean that it equates to domain names.

Step back and THINK what some of these names are for... i understand they are domain names - but what is a domain name? It's basically an address to a website.. in a lot of cases, the domain name explains what that website is (not always).. with that said, what are some / most of these domain names going to have at their address? I'm not picking on anybody's names, but i will pick a few randomly and ask, "realistically" what these names are for - who is your target end users, or have you even considered end-users?.. names like holohornet, holomailer, holopaper (AND paperS?? - isn't this is also somewhat of an oxymoron?), holosignal, holoyork (is this supposed to be a take on new york?), holosocializing(?!), moviesholo, holoebony ....etc..

Look, this isn't like it was even a year ago with $0.99 godaddy coupons flying around all over the place when you were able to satisfy your fix for less than a buck - these names are over $8 EACH now and i hate to say it, but there is no way 98% of these names go anywhere.

Another way to look at your names right now is like this... if all your names were set to expire TODAY and you only had $100 to spend on renewals, which names would you keep?

You might not be able to see it yet, and like i said, this is not me picking on anybody or looking for an argument. I believe many here would agree. I took many lumps myself, so i am just trying to help. I hope at least a part of what i said seeps in.

My last piece of advice would be to keep a spreadsheet of available names. When you have an urge to register a name, write it down on the list. You will probably keep looking for more and adding to that list but it helps. If you still feel like you NEED to have that name a day or two or seven later, then it's hard to argue with that, but hopefully it slows you down from making bigger mistakes.

Also, names like HoloAtlantic and HoloPacific are better brands as PacificHolo (which is available) and AtlanticHolo (also available)

Anyway, that's my two cents. I hope i was able to help.
Best of luck.

HoloPapers are holographic newspapers. Not flaming you (you have some good ones) but I'm not in love with all of your domains either.
Signal and Hornet are common newspaper names. My full HoloPaper list can be seen at HoloPapers.com.

I got HoloUI and will def be keeping it.

Hard to tell with this keyword how popular it will become for brands. Even though holo tech is different from VR, the branding process does not always differentiate them. Might be a few years before we see a name rush for these though.

ok been taking the advice I have been given and have provisionally worked out my renewals to be about 15 domains I will keep.

Also trying to be selective with my registrations now.
