discuss Discuss and Showcase Drone Domain Names

NamecheapNamecheap
Watch
I have recently read that the drone industry is trying to change the word "drone" to something different.

The word "drone" has a very bad rep. for obvious reasons.

What do you think will happen with the word "drone" and drone domain names?

Feel free to showcase your drone domain names on this thread.

Hi,
I'm wondering whether UAV and UAS names will take off and be used more for the civilian side of drones, for example for use in photography, etc. The word drone tends to remind people of their military applications.

In the meantime, I have a bunch of drone names related to the law, like drone jurist.com and some others including:
drone electrics.com
drones 2020.com
drone aerotech.com
drone servos.com

A recent interaction with a 'drone' domain buyer that a friend was brokering; had the person offer $100, then $500, then $1000... $1000 was accepted and then two days passed, he emails her back calling her a 'squatter' and then offers $100 again.

What a loon.

Nah, I follow through when I make an offer.

As for Twitter and the dronie TM...I'm glad they got rejected. After all, the real dronies were posting junk regs in this thread long before the TM filing. Glad to see many have slowed down on the donations to Godaddy and other registrars!

Are there still any drone domain names available for registration? Haven't all 6,737,385 of them been registered by now? You know, with all the drone companies starting up, and going public and all that.

Awesome New Record: 50 Drone Swarm Controlled by 1 person.

I can think of many positive applications, some negatives -like swarming other other aircraft, come to mind.

BTW, a study found that of the 764 close-call incidents reported to the FAA between drones and other aircraft, only 27 were actually called a "near miss" by pilots.

BTW, a study found that of the 764 close-call incidents reported to the FAA between drones and other aircraft, only 27 were actually called a "near miss" by pilots.

Of the 27 "near miss" incidents , I bet less than 2 of those were actually within 10 yards. The idea that someone could get there drone purposefully perfectly within the flight path of a plane moving hundreds of miles an hour is a bit ridiculous.

From 3DRobotic.com:
And commercial pilots themselves donโ€™t seem too worried about colliding with a drone: โ€œI called up three airline pilots who fly for three major airlines, put the question to them, and got these three replies: โ€˜Itโ€™s not terribly concerning,โ€™ says Boeing 757 pilot Helena Reidemar. โ€˜Iโ€™m not too worried about drones,โ€™ said Boeing 737 pilot Scott Maclean. Airbus A320 pilot Doug Dupuie added: โ€˜Iโ€™m pretty unconcerned, Iโ€™d say.โ€™โ€ (Slate)

drone names are here to stay as the names have been used by people, industry and entrepreneurs and so the domain names are definitely going to thrive.

dronesmart.com 576 USD 2015-09-25 GoDaddy

Sedo have been showcasing drones on the front page of their site for months - does not seem to be resulting in sales though.
