discuss Discuss and Showcase Drone Domain Names

SpaceshipSpaceship
Watch
I have recently read that the drone industry is trying to change the word "drone" to something different.

The word "drone" has a very bad rep. for obvious reasons.

What do you think will happen with the word "drone" and drone domain names?

Feel free to showcase your drone domain names on this thread.

you usually cant get to 5 figures without turning down 4 figures.
You usually can't get anything without asking for it, unless it's VD, lol.

Drones like anything, have a limited shelf life. Take the money and fly while you can!

Ok that was funny.

If there is one thing thet wont have a limited shelf life it is Drones.
I watched Helen Greiner on CNBC this morning CEO of Cyphy and she said someday there will be hundreds if not thousands of drones flying over our heads all the time. So get use to them because they are not going away anytime soon.

I am sure I will hate it later but for now I am trying to profit from it...lol

Don't you just hate it when someone wont tell their little secrets? :xf.wink:

And again for the 3rd time anyone can always transfer out to Namesilo up until 24hrs after the closeout auction for just $8.39

Now back to Topic
A few weeks ago in .com I turned down $9500 for Top Drone, I have no problem sitting on that one for a long time :xf.smile:
Turning down 9500 for Top Drone is questionable to say the least. I'm trying to think of why a business would pay that much for a brandable name when there are so many cheaper alternatives.

Your domain though, so your call. Hope it pays off for you.

There are cheaper alternatives for All high price domains ever sold.
It will pay off, no worries here.

Most of the time, high priced sales are category killers... DroneCam, Drones.net, RCDrones etc etc...

Then there are the lower priced sales for brandable names like SmartDrone which sold for half of what you turned down for topdrone..

And in time SmartDrone would have sold for more.

What some here are either failing to recognize or just refusing to admit is that Drones and the Drone market are now in it's infancy.
This market is going to continue to grow at an incredible rate for a long, long time.

As Jeff Glor on the CBS news said, "Drones are now where the PC was in the early 1980s"
Anyone who says or believes this market has a limited shelf life either has an agenda or needs to have their head examined :xf.wink:

the uas/uav market won't peak before 2020 earliest, so any such quality drone/uas/uav related domain will most probably not sell for max profit until then.. (exception: hype period (like with any other tech) which also causes bigger domain sales until reality settles in)

The inventor of the VCR probably thought the future was bright too. When it comes to the tech market everything has a limited shelf life.

Well, you are loosely using the term limited shelf life

The VCR had about a 40yr shelf life where Oil Paintings and all of its tools have been around for hundreds of years and still sell strong to this day (I know this since I use to be in the oil painting business)

If Drones only last 40yrs like the VCR well then that's ok, I will probably be dead and gone by that time and will have spent half the money I made from Drone domains on women, booze and drugs and will have wasted the other half :P

I love it! A great paraphrase of the old Vaudeville legend W.C. Fields....still makes me laugh. :)

reg'd rechargeabledrone.com

As time goes on, I'm getting better at recognizing domain name value. I am deleting my so-so names to reduce renewal fees.

You followed the White Rabbit down the rabbit hole -who finds itself sliding downhill: โ€œDown, down, down. Would this run never come to an end?โ€
But it does eventually make it, astonishingly in one piece and not much worse for wear at that.
This is the beginning of your adventures in the nonsensical land of Drones, and the Rabbit Hole serves as the magical portal into this mysterious world.
