lol I'd be surprised if no domainer has looked into this. I haven't and probably won't "play" with this. I did catch this article in my Yahoo news feed and of course thought of you guys. :xf.wink:

    https://sports.yahoo.com/squatters-...ickname-option-will-it-pay-off-173025315.html

If someone is betting big money on trademarking the potential new name for the Washington Redskins I wonder if any domainers are doing the same? lol

I mean Trademarks cost $250 per TM. .com's right now are as low as $6.99.

    It just makes sense.

So what's your "Washington Redskins rename" domain? not serious. just thought I'd ask.:xf.grin:

Nope, because I knew it would either be Warriors or Generals, and those are long gone.

The point of "makes sense" is that if there are people who are registering TM's for what the possible new name will be then it "makes sense" since $6.99 is cheaper than $250 that "SOMEONE" will go with the cheaper "risk" of betting on the name and "get in on the action".

I did not create this thread to condone the registration of possible TM domain names for the new Washington Redskins name.

Think about it. You are GUESSING on the possible new name for the Washington Redskins.

Meaning...........the name has not been chosen yet and therefore probably hasn't been TM yet.

I don't know the legality of it. wasn't the point of the thread. Just wanted to know if anyone here decided to give it a try?

There are many "out of the box" thinking domainers here I suspect.

like the domainer who register "OkBoomer.com"

The key here (I think) is to register a name that has no TM.

I for one am not going to throw my chips in this game. But I'm sure someone will.

note the navajo nation has "suggested" that the new name should be the Washington CodeTalkers as a tribute to the Navajo CodeTalkers who helped win WWII with using their ancient language.

And check it out 7-03-20 WashingtonCodeTalkers.com was registered. (Not mine)
Codetalkers.com and CodeTalker.com are both registered too.

    see what I mean?

one guy registered the TM Pigskins lol

    haha nice one.

I think like with most national pro teams they often use animals native to their states. checked it out and none sounded "Tough" lol

    here's a list. lol

    green darner
    Pacific Tree Frog
    Dolly Varden Trout
    Steeler's Jay
    Chestnut-backed Chickadee

Orca or Killer Whale - The Orca, an Endangered species in Washington, is the largest species of the dolphin family. There are several resident populations living in Puget Sound. Orcas live in a cohesive family group known as a pod which includes a mother Orca and all of her dependent offspring 10 years or younger. Orcas are highly vocal producing a variety of clicks and whistles used for communication and echolocation.

Marbled Murrelets - The Marbled Murrelet is a small seabird that is a member of the auk family. It nests in old-growth and mature forests in the North Pacific. USFWS has listed the Marbled Murrelet as a threatened species in Washington. Threats include loss of nesting habitat due to logging activities and high predation rates due to human disturbances.

Striped Whipsnake - The Striped Whipsnake is a long slender snake that is dark above with alternating light and dark stripes down the length of the body. The only other large striped snakes in Washington are the garter snakes. Little is known about the habitat requirements in Washington. It appears that undisturbed shrub-steppe with a low cover of cheatgrass is a favored area. Striped Whipsnakes are very rare in the state. They are considered critically imperiled.

Oregon Spotted Frog - The Oregon Spotted Frog is a medium to large aquatic frog. It is endemic to the Pacific Northwest (only occurring in that area). This frog is almost entirely aquatic in habit, leaving wetlands only occasionally for short duration. The habitat for Oregon Spotted Frogs must include a shallow emergent wetland component. Loss of this habitat has decreased the range and number of the species. It is considered a State Endangered Species and is classified by USFWS as a Candidate species.

Gray Wolf - The Gray Wolf is the largest wild member of Canidae or Dog family. It is considered an Endangered species in Washington. Historically, wolves were found throughout most of the state, but because of human persecution in the 1930's all but a few were destroyed. In recent years wolf populations have been re-established in surrounding states. As the wolf packs increase and expand their territory, Washington will once again have Gray Wolves. In July of 2008 the first fully confirmed wolf pack in many years was discovered in Okanogan county.

but it looks like Redtails is gaining ground to honor the Tuskegee airmen. as well as RedWolves.

Still don't know why they would go with RED? is it because of the cost of color change?

    save money?

Washington state is known for Gray Wolves. It should be the Washington GrayWolves then.but that's just me. lol

It is also known for Killer Whales or Orcas.

Then I thought. Maybe the Washington Red Killers?

ummmm nevermind! scratch that idea. That's even worse than Redskins plus also covers all Communists.

Branding is such a mind field.

The team should call themselves the Washington Domainers ! :xf.grin:

Domainers are fierce defenders of their names, artful dodgers when required, creative playmakers, and love to be champions of the big sales. Owning a domain means being king of that bit of territory. All of those things match well to a football team wanting to dominate on the field.

To keep other teams a little unsettled, each week the team could feature a different TLD on their jersey.:xf.wink:

Ideally they could get a major registrar or registry to be their corporate primary sponsor with various naming rights.

Just think, chance to be the only team in professional sports with a domainer as a mascot!:xf.smile:

    Bob

PS at time of writing the name is available to hand register.

No simply domainers, not to infringe on @MasterOfMyDomains name, but imagine branding around the Washington Domainers are masters of their domain name, and they dominate and domaininate on the field.

Seriously imagine all the attention to the world of domain names from a team calling themselves that. It is actually as good a name as many names now used in sports.

They could sponsor a creative contest on NamePros to come up with a logo that combines idea of domains and football.

Hey domainers.football is available for less than $20 to hand reg. I kid you not. Come on Washington football, get on this domainers name now.

    What about the Cleveland Browns?

That's racial appropriation. Someone will be offended.

    Toronto Raptors?

Raptors have been extinct for millions of years. That's sad. A footbool team should not use the name of an extinct animal. It probably died horribly.

    San Jose Sharks
    Florida Gators

These are animals that are responsible for murdering and eating a significant amount of people world wide. We can't allow the use of an animal that is directly responsible for murdering humans. If anyone's friends or family members were ever eaten or killed or even attacked by these animals should complain.

Lol thanks. Curiosity is what made monkeys into man. Monkey stood up because it needed to reach some fruit high up.

Monkeys used tools to stick in an ant hill or termite mound to see what's in there he or she could eat.

Nobody is curious any more. Everything is spoon feed to th brain washed.
