Thanks much Mike, I am very entuned with your posts and these "available" .TV type threads; as I may be looking to purchase one (for development purposes) over the summer! :music: :imho:

Best wishes,
Jeff B-)

In the interest of hatchet-burying and because I actually thought your last post expressing your purpose had some merit - balance to lurkers - I am willing to try and ENGAGE you and others in a proper discussion and perhaps to offset what is most negative with some mostly positive.

Would it be possible that you express what particular niche it is that you are looking for? If you have a development plan I'm sure that as a group we'd be able to secure a fabulous domain at a good price (potentially regfee or hell, a free transfer if its a dropping one).

I'm hoping you are not being deliberately nebulous with your plans because I would love to see how YOU think a TV should be developed and what your vision is for the value of .TV.

I had previously suggested emeritus.TV. it's a very professorial name that could fit you purely for vanity reasons (which is a valid reason for ownership IMHO = not everything needs to be a blockbuster).

This is an earnest post.

Now. In general.

I think that .TV has a great future based SOLELY on the availability of VALUABLE BRANDABLE real estate with potentially VIDEO (not necessary) but which has had significant OPEN SOURCE movements to make DEVELOPMENT of DYNAMIC content AFFORDABLE even on a SMALL scale. I don't think .TV means "TV" and I don't think "TV" is RESTRICTED to .TV. There is a brand synergy more than it is relevance of extension. I think you (Jeff, regulars, lurkers) could do well to DEVELOP in this space.

LET US HELP you with ADVICE and SUGGESTIONS.

The pump is primed for a .TV site to be a success.

TV - I like it too.

I'm interested in ANY development plans that people have and the feasibility thereof. Obviously there are non disclosures and enterprise level things people can't discuss. I'm willing to hear even IDEAS even if they are pipe dreams.

Please keep it respectable and ABOUT IDEAS and POTENTIAL.

Are you looking for good ideas to invest in joint developmnt projeccts or to have a discussion about decent .TV devlopment ideas?? Either is fine, just looking for classification.

Just general ideas. Everyone says their developing... I just wonder what ?

Maybe lead me to investigate other avenues myself. Right now I have nothing and my one idea isn't even remotely innovative

Well show us a list of your names and we can go from there. Bit difficult to give you advice without knowing the names YOU want to develop

Ir are you looking for other people to disclose their dev plans?

Not being sarky, just tring to help...

I'm not looking for advice, per se. I was looking for what other people may be investigating (rather an unsuccessful attempt). I was rather hoping Jeff might be an interesting case study. I may later offer up a couple of ideas. I seem to have them mostly about others domains though... I find it easier that way .... Perhaps this was a delusional thread because there are three groups... Non developers, talkers and then the developers who likely keep schtumm until their site is announced.

But I was hopeful. Perhaps naive to think that the words "I'm developing" meant anything.

I'll post a couple of my domains with ideas I've floated later.

Didn't think you were being snarky. It's an awkward thread for people.

^ I guess I don't exactly understand the post/request, IMHO. :-/

I mentioned in another (available .TV's) thread that "as I may be looking to purchase one (.TV; for development purposes) over the summer"; I'll be actively perusing the lists and even the sales threads for one that stikes me, and perhaps there could then even be a collaborative type effort insofar as ownership / partnership / development interests (I have a few folks here in mind who are active .TV'rs that I could imagine successfully engaging & uniquely developing in such a scenario for mutual benefit if all agreed etc., IMHO). :music: :talk:

Best regards,
Jeff B-)

So it's a nebulous development goal then, Jeff? You don't have anything in mind and are taking the build around a domain vs buying a domain around a concept approach.

Fair enough. Good luck.

Huh, I don't even know which ".TV" domain I am going to register / acquire sometime over this summer? :red:
However, when I do obtain the domain (after first carefully researching for development purposes), again I hope to develop it in some type of professional, collaborative manner as mentioned. :lala:

See you then,
Jeff B-)

PS. I am already presently discussing some potential collaborative arrangements with folks via PM's; thank you for the overwhelming response and highly professional, insightful offers! :talk:

Based on feedback I've received through other mediums, it appears that while an open public forum is great for discussing the general potential of various domains - particularly through the appraisal format - it is not the best place to solicit generic innovative ideas.

The reason appears to be primarily an issue of "idea ownership" or "intellectual property".

I am not disheartened by this; rather I find this as a positive. The fact that people are looking at .TV as a base for "interesting and exciting" concepts is a good news! Obviously - these unique ideas aren't always ready for showtime but I look forward to when they are!

I am unlikely to post further on this thread.

I look forward to seeing more .TV sightings in the near future. Thanks Millers for your comments.

Onward, Forward.
