Greetings Everyone!

I own the following domain and excited about the prospects: desperatestudents.com

The potential, in my opinion, is extremely high. Search terms are hot and there are multiple revenue streams possible. In addition, I believe this can be taken in one of two directions:

1) My initial thought was a site for students to do everything from buy/sell books (materials) to blogs and general merchandising for college students.

2) The devil on my shoulder is whispering thoughts about the adult market potential for this as well.

Looking forward to any feedback. Thanks in advance!

I'd drop it

the idea is too far fetched to acheive

Drop it? Interesting...How is it "too far fetched"? Thanks for your wisdom.

Sorry but i gotta agree with biggie, little to no value, if you disagree try developing it yourself and see how long it takes for any revenue to come in, best of luck

The only thing that pops into mind with this one is an Adult site brand. lol, you'd have more luck getting $xx-xxx marketing it that way then anyway else IMO

A sale is more unlikely than likely, but DesperateStudents.com is actually a good domain for a variety of niches.

Of course, there's porn.

But another example would be student movers. One brand in particular (which I believe had some news coverage years back) is "Starving Student Movers" at SSMovers.com.

Now, the domain is a bit of a long shot in a retail setting, which means that its wholesale value to a domainer is likely to be low $xx or high $xx at most.

If you were choosing a list price for Sedo or elsewhere and prepared to wait possibly forever, then I'd suggest $800 to $2,500.

Again, a sale is statistically unlikely but possible for this one.

It is an ok domain to build out but tons of work ahead of you. As a domain byitself I sell it on ebay for .99 and see what happens. Not a typical domain that will get offers.

'Desperate' gives the domain a negative connotation, for this reason alone it's unlikely to sell.
It can be developed into a nice concept with a lot of effort, but end users seldom buy such domains. Hence no resale potential for the raw domain.

All, thank you thus far for your feedback. It is appreciated. Sorry for my mild outburst - I was just taken aback. Fortunately, most of you actually gave constructive feedback.

I agree that the best chance at any value is likely the adult route. As someone who is clearly new to this arena, can you steer me in the direction of helpful information as to steps involved to get involved in the adult side of the fence (e.g. Linking, Partnerships, etc)

Thanks!

If thats the route you want to go then best of luck to you, you might want to check out gfy.com for ideas. Your probably going to be better off just letting the name drop, the adult niche isnt worth the effort

I don't like it for adult as students sounds as much minors as college age. Plus the coed version was available when I looked at this when it was posted. Not good

There would be the old idea of students will do your house work wash your car mow your lawn, type of use. But that also nicely fits the dot org, which was available when I looked. So that idea wasn't screaming to be bought and used in the past.

Its logical and I could see someone wanting it. $xx Goodluck
