Hello Everyone,

I have gain interest in a .NET domain name, and have offered them money for it and my offer has been accepted by the seller...

We have contacted the registrant where the domain name is registered and recieved a reply saying that the domain name will not transferr out because it is under "Delete Status"... Because the owner chose years ago that he want the domain to expire.

Would the "Delete Status" prevent the domain from being transferred from one registrant to another?

The domain name is more than 14 days from the renewal date and is not in a "Locked" status... so I don't see how the fact the the owner has chosen to press the delete button in the control panel... that there is no way to transfer it out in time and for the transfer to be sucessful!

Any knowledge or advise would be magnificent

Maybe it would be worth just giving the transfer a go... I've sent the guy a transfer request, I just want to get the domain before it does actually delete.

There is no mention of being in a "Delete Status" in the WHOIS records in any way!

Thanks

- Luke :)

Why do you need to transfer it out? Why don't you have the domain pushed to you within the registrar, renew it, wait the 60 days, then transfer out?

If domain is now on redemption period (that should be 14 days after expiring), the owner should just renew it. And then push it to you.

i agree with fronzie that way the registrar is happy, or tell the owner to pay a little extra to renew it :)
