Noticing more and more .TVs recently but funny how they are used.

is prominently in the ad (on BBC America) but it redirects to

http://debtmerica.com/?src_id=2&network=TV

Looks like they're using it to manage the TV ad effectiveness.

I was just thinking...we should probably save us all a thread mountain and have a ".TV Spotted" thread. Perhaps the admin could consolidate this and the Snickers one and start it for us.

^ Not a bad idea, as long as they are only stand-alone, fully developed ".TV's" (and not simple 'URL redirects')! :yell: :imho:

Why? I think it's very clear that the use of .TV even in a simple redirect can give immediate feedback into the success of a given market campaign.... in the same way as referrals.

In addition, if you can measure traffic to a dot TV and forward now it would be very to simply switch to something unique to that domain very quickly. The point is you are managing the traffic and clients to your branded product through distinct marketing strategies.

There's a difference between a "marketing" dot TV and a simple TM redirect dot TV.

IBM having IBM.us is meaningless its just a TM redirect. Baseball advertising mlb.tv is not.... they are creating a brand that may or may not be a very different and distinct unique part of their overall strategy. Whether it ends up successul that way or not is for the future to find out.

I do find it interesting that IBM.tv is unregged. I am getting a sort of .mobi vibe though.
