Thank you very much @Jimmysun

I was not aware that this is so much text. Otherwise I would not have asked. :tightlyclosedeyes:

A bit astonishing that China may see Libra as a competitor. No comparison with existing cryptocurrencies, no word about USD, EURO etc.

no word about USD, EURO
This much we do know, they (USD, EURO) are far behind. FedNow (USD) was recently introduced as a real time payment solution and it won't be ready until 2023-2024. In addition, FedNow does not have all the attributes that DCEP has. China wants to replace the dollar and DCEP is its opportunity, at least that is what China is thinking.

Disclaimer: I have been translating piles of Chinese sources.:xf.smile:

No problem at all, yeah it's amazing they compare with Libra, maybe because Zuckerberg is a Jew and they knew he is a member of the biggest authority:sneaky:. The terrible thing is when China's authority announces something that the Chinese public has to achieve that means things will go faster than you think because of only one political party, like Alipay which only spent 1-2 years almost all the old people in China know how to use it.

Anyone know if DCEP will have the ability to do smart contracts, dapps? It's not decentralized, but it is using a blockchain, so just curious

I believe smart contracts and dapps will be possible in the second layer of the two-tier distribution network. Although, much of the information out there seems to be unconfirmed as details remain elusive.

I don’t think they will announce the public chain function because too many dapps out there couldn’t define whether it is legal but I do believe when dcep have been matured they will provide dcep foundation made by their own.

Thanks... Do you know when they will launch dcep and when will it be accessible to the public? I think this coin won't be able to compete with libra if they are not making their chain useful for smart contracts and dapps.

They didn’t say when to launch but I believe they will choose a specific province such as ShenZhen to start the beta version, because it’s a centralized coin so I think it only improve the convenience of transaction, further means they are not allowed anyone to public their own stable coins, their intension is to lead up a sovereign coin and spread out widely before every other country done it. But still it’s a really huge market for those country that want to export goods into China in the future, it’s like old strategy that USD does.

DCEPCash! 👌

Be careful with possibly wasting money on Chinese gambling domains. I think it's banned at least in mainland China...

Is there any real value in DCEP domains?

Do Chinese start ups really buy domains? I've heard of a few Chinese sales, but is purchasing domains as common in China as it is the rest of the world?

Will DCEP be successful enough outside of China to justify non-Chinese companies doing business outside of China to purchase DCEP domains?

DCEP will likely see heavy adaption given that Chinese seem to confirm to what the gov plans out for them. Do you think that Chinese entrepreneurs will launch businesses to monetize this new form of payment and will they want DCEP domains.?

With over 2 billion Chinese, I feel like there is lots of opportunity for DCEP to become one of the most used currencies on a blockchain, but whether or not this is an opportunity for domaining, I'm not entirely sure.
