Anyone know when "Internet Explorer" started using the "ie_" moniker?

Its not really squatting though, because it doesnt appear to be generating any revenue. The link to FireFox doesnt seem to have an affiliate link or anything of that nature. If they keep it that way they should be fine. I'd probably add a little opinion piece to the site to make it seem like you're making a statement, protected free speech and all that jazz.

Ummm... naaah ;)

Pecuniary gain is not a necessary component to find bad faith, nor is a lack of pecuniary interest sufficient to show any legitimate interest.

Not sure how this one would come out, but don't think that this is somehow kosher just because it lacks advertisements.

I've seen the opposite to this somewhere, but can't find the site.

Well, thats why I said I would add an opinion piece to the domain personally, because using a domain to express an oppositional contention by a completely unrelated third party could establish sufficient rights to usage. This follows more along the lines of xxxxxSucks.com domains, which have for the most part been found as reasonable fair use under protected speech rights. It would be an interesting decision to read though :)

Personally, as it is, I'd argue parody. It's obviously meant to make people laugh, or at least that seems to have been the effect :) And no one could reasonably mistake it as a legitimate MS or IE site.

But yeh, I understand what your getting at. I just see it as a political statement so to speak. Not political per se, but political in the realm of computer geeks :)
