Soybe is a free AJAX online service that allows users to convert youtube videos on the fly.

The process is very simple, users just copy and paste the url of the video page into the blue input bar on our page.

The script was completely custom written. The caching is relatively slow because the server is connected to a slow 3mbps line. The script is fairly easy to install, and it runs itself completely. I am willing to do what I can to help, if any assistance is required with the script/install.

Its been live for 3 weeks now, and it get 5-10 visits a day. I was really hoping to promote this site into something really popular but I'm forced to sell because of financial reasons.

Starting Bid: $75
BIN @ $300

Thanks.

Do you make any money from this? O.o

Not right now, no.

My long term goal was to gain some popularity before throwing ads on the pages. I paid $200 for the script, and I can get the new buyer in contact with the programmer if they want.

I'm very curious about this error, because I had the script tested thoroughly in different browsers. Did you intput a correct youtube link, ie http://youtube.com/watch?v=y0kZKI6hUwE ?

The site is coded in PHP and calls ffmpeg. So if you're on a Linux server you'll need ffmpeg or to install it (I can help the buyer do this). If you're on a Windows server you just need ffmpeg.exe (not even install, just the file), and I can mod the script to work on Windows,

When I tried to extract audio from a video for a 4 minute song I got 32 minutes of audio, the middle of the track just repeats over and over.

This happens occaisonally, its because when I compiled/installed ffmpeg I used a slightly outdated codec. This will not happen with a proper ffmpeg installation on the buyers server.

What sort of server will be needed to run this on at its best?

A Linux server that you have ssh access to. And as long as it has a 10 mbit line (most servers do). Right now the caching is slow because its on a 3 mbit line. The conversion is actually pretty fast the the server specs are 1.7Ghz, 512 mb of ram, so its a pretty budget server.

Auction ends in 1 hr 19 minutes (at 9:05 PM GMT -8). High bid at $90.
