Hurricane Ike
Thank you very much Dave for the update; we have been having a rough time here in Houston with all methods of communication; it seems, if the phones are working then power will be out and when the power is restored then the ISPs are experiencing lags and service interruptions. I truly appreciate the mention on NamePros.
For NP members and customers wondering how the impact of hurricane Ike affected the Vessio office located near downtown Houston; I will include a brief update below:
One of the Many Hurricane Ike News Stories www.news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080910/ap_on_re_us/ike_texas
I do apologize as I am aware that some of our clients did not receive our notice sent out last Wednesday before we began backing up and preparing for the storm; we have had some customers report this via support ticket in their (cp).
We had to prepare and leave the office for the hurricane that would be taking place on late last Friday/early Saturday morning which nearly crippled the last half of the work week due to the evacuations from the coast and the time spent on backing up data. As of the latest news report 64% of the Houston area is still currently without power which includes the building our office is located. It has been reported on centerpointenergy.com that power will be restored to our office location on Monday 9/22; I am hoping that power will be restored before the end of this week or maybe even tomorrow, if we could be so lucky. We do have limited remote access to most works mainly files and notes within the vessio.com (cp) system or on the servers.
At this point, we believe to have reached out to all clients' via (cp) or direct e-mail to make them aware of our continued power outage so the minor delays are understood. Please rest assured knowing that no project data has been lost on any accounts and your delivery date should only be affected for the amount of time we are out of power. If you are an existing customer please be sure to check your (cp) account at vessio.com for further updates; and for all future customers please know that new accounts are absolutely still being accepted and attended to.
On a personal note; this has been a very frustrating past week to say the least and I now have a new profound love for gas powered generators.
As always, if you need a more detailed update on one of your projects, site bundle package, or any project or service component you have with us please feel free to e-mail or dial me directly at the information below.
Thank you very much to all for understanding.
On a lighter note: We do have a special "something" in store that will apply to all of our client types, Developers, Domainers, and Freelancers that utilize Vessio for both hosting services and/or development of their projects or domains. Please keep your eyes peeled within the next week.
Thanks again!
